Fact: Seven months later, in September of 2008, the stock market crashed. On September 29, 2008, the Dow Jones lost a record 777 points and the financial system in the USA collapsed. The American people were forced to bail-out the failed banking system and several Wall Street firms with hundreds of billions of dollars in taxpayer's money from the TARP.
