MOTEK WHEELS AND ACCESSORIES Bent over with no lube!!! Van Nuys, California

Unfortunately I am yet another individual to be ripped off.  I found Motek Wheels and Accessories in LowRider magazine.  Well actually my boyfriend did.  So we contacted them to purchase 24 inch deep dish 228 spoke rims (excuse me if I am not lingo correct - LOL).  This is around the 15th of Feb.  During the order process, we dealt with "Tony."  Tony was great at explaining what we were getting, the process and everything.  Total price $1499.00

We originally started to pay through a Visa Check card.  We paid $400.00 that way.  Then, due to my inpatient boyfriend, we called them the next day to see how we could expediate the order.  Again, Tony was pleasant and told us to send a money order for, get this...$1395.00.  What?  Wait... how did it go up another $300??  Tony explained it was because of the "kind of tires" we would need.  We accepted that and sent the money order (February 17, 2010).  We are told 5-7 business days we will receive the tires/rims.

Three weeks pass... 4-5 calls later.  Tony now VERY rude.  Told several times they are on backorder.  If I had any other questions, Tony would tell me that he did not have time for this and hang up on me.  When I asked for money back, I was told to just pick another kind of rim.  When I would not go with that I was told they were going to keep 20%.  Negotiated the 20% to only the money order portion.  I felt triumphant.

It is now March 31, 2010.  I have called several times about the refund.  Tony told me he does not handle that part of the company and that I would need to speak with "Robert."  Robert VERY cordial and professional at first.  Assures me I will get my money in 5-7 business days.  We are now looking at two full weeks of BS!!

Called last week to be told I should be getting it anyday.  When I still hadn't rec'd it Monday, I asked it be sent overnight.  Today... still no money.  Tried to talk to Robert and Tony.  BOTH put me on hold for 10-15 minutes at a time to just hang up on me after that.  Finally told to call at 7 p.m. (central time) which is 5 p.m. (closing time) in California for tracking number.

This place is a scam and apparently have been doing this for at least 2-3 years now.  They change their personal names, phone numbers and address (I think address).  LOWRIDER should be held just a responsible as these fools.  Someone please help.  Too many people are saying the same thing... unfortunately it dates back 2-3 years.  Is there anything that can be done about this???  Please help!!
