Mother Goose Adoptions No Respect for Privacy or Compassion Baltimore Maryland

After becoming unexpectedly pregnant I considered adoption as an alternative to abortion, which I do not believe in, and raising the baby, as I am rather young. I searched for various resources for information, one of which being Mothergoose Adoptions.

I stressed to the person on the phone that any correspondence they sent to me via mail needed to be plain and unmarked, or they were not getting my address. I was still living at home and knew this would create a problem, plus I wanted my privacy.

I arrived home several days later to see that a BIG package from Mothergoose Adoptions had arrived, clearly marked and indicative of what was in the package. As a result, I got thrown out of my house and at the time, had no where to go.

When I called the agency to ensure that they NEVER contacted me again and explained what happened, they were annoyed and unsympathetic... as I was in tears on the other end of the phone. They had no compassion and obviously no respect for privacy. Someone's mistake in addressing the label cost me a lot; if I had known or if I was told it was impossible to send something plain, I either wouldn't have asked for the information or given an alternate address... but they assured me confidentiallity.

I have since moved on with life and found a wonderful couple through private lawyers who adopted my baby. I just wanted to write to warn other birthmothers and let other couples considering adoption know that Mothergoose Adoptions is not they way to go, and there are so many other routes that will provide much more support.

Knowing what they did to me makes me convinced this agency is only in it for the money without any regard for the mother, baby, or adoptive parents. I would be terrified to see my baby or anyone else's being placed through them. Adoption is such a heartbreaking process for all, and mine was magnified a thousand times due to their negligence and disregard.
