Motion Pictures Inc AKA Annapolis Talent Agency ripoff illegally charged my credit card no work done Severna Park Maryland

On August 26th 2003, I had a meeting with the agent, Shawn, at Annapolis Agency/Motion Pictures. Before I could meet with him, I was told that I needed to meet with the photographer, Richard of Motion Pictures Inc.

He tried to convince me that I should put my pictures on the internet on the agency's website. He had me fill out the information, and then he explained that it would be $199.00 to perform this service (of placing my pictures on the internet). Richard explained that price was an exceptional deal and he could only give it to me that day. I was very wary and told him I needed to think about it. He said that he could hold the special price if I gave him my credit card number. I gave him my card, which he returned and my pictures, and went to meet with Shawn the agent.

After meeting with Shawn, I returned to Richard's office to explain that spending $199.00 to put my pictures on the internet was not something that I was interested in. He said that it was fine and returned my pictures to me assuring me my credit card would not be charged.

In returning my pictures and saying my credit card would not be charged he rescinded any contract that he might claim to have been made.

A month later, I called Richard at Motion Pictures Inc. to tell him a mistake had been made, and that he had charged my credit card. At that time, he said it was indeed a mistake and that the charge would be taken off. By stating that, he again rescinded any contract that he may claim.

I waited another month to see if Richard and Motion Pictures did indeed return the money. When they did not, I contacted my credit card company to inform them that an illegitimate charge had been made to my account. With my credit card company, I went through the process of trying to reclaim the money charged by Motion Pictures. However, because of wrong advice I was given by the credit card company, I disputed the claim improperly and too much time has passed for them to re-file.

No work was ever performed by Richard or anyone else at Motion Pictures Inc. One can easily pull up the website (http://www.annapolisagency.com) and see that there are no pictures of me. He could not have put my pictures on the Internet, because he was not in possession of any of my pictures.

I am currently filing a claim with Maryland Small Claims Court. If anyone would like to contact me with similar information about this agency, please do so through the rebuttal key.
