Mountain Dew Farms ripoff Oneida Tennessee

I also bought horses from Val Moody. The first time we visited their place everything seemed fine. I did not see any mistreated horses or bad conditions. This was 3 years ago. Did something happen between then and now? I was appalled when I saw the news and pictures. I am a supporter of Horse Haven of TN and Nina has been given my story. I also thought that Val and Donnie Moody were wonderful people. They seemed loving and caring with a good family and we had complete trust in them. They delivered our horses to us, as we did not have a trailer.

Now that I can look back in hindsight I can see things in a different light. One of our horses was pregnant and we were never told.... luckily.. everything worked out and we had a beautiful healthy filly. The second horse was very undernourished, which we could see... and we were told that the woman who had her before they got her could not take care of properly and had stalled her for the winter and did not know to give her grain and oats.... of course we believed them... but between our vet and farrier we got her in good shape in no time. Our third horse is also a great horse. They are all healthy.. both or vet and farrier have not noticed any problems in the last couple years. The only thing I wonder now is if I was lied to about their ages..I will have to ask my vet...
The 3rd horse we have is a sad story though..... I had asked Val Moody if she knew anyone who would like to buy my 2 year old Tennesee Walker as he was green broke and had thrown me and I am too old to do that kind of stuff.... so she called and asked if I would do a trade for a beautiful "dead broke" mare. I agreed and that is how I got my 3rd horse. The next day I saw my TN Walker advertised on her web site.. a couple days later he wasn't being advertised anymore and there had been no SOLD on his page. Well, after them changing the subject several times when I asked how he was and several phone calls later..they finally told me that when they were at school that his legs had somehow gotten tangled up in barbwire and he had drowned. She was crying and carrying on telling me that they were down on their hands and knees digging in the dirt unburying the wire because that hadn't know it was there etc... I really really believed her at the time..she came off as such a caring person. I guess you just never know sometimes.....
