To whom it may concern,


 


This letter is in regards to your letter requesting information regarding VIDEO REPORTER INC, and 2 charges on my American Express card.


 


On February 18, 2009 I was approached by a Jeff Allen, the regional sales director for NAC/ National Advertising Center or as the billing states VIDEO REPORTER INC.  Jeff Allen explained to me that their magazine was placed in the Safeway Shopping center about 1 mile away from my restaurant.  Jeff explained the number of people who visit the Safeway and how well their magazine did there.  I felt that the store was close enough and was our cliental.  I told Jeff that I have another restaurant in Felton, California in a strip center that had a Safeway in it too.  Jeff then told me that if I sign up for Campbell Safeway, he would put me in the magazine in the Felton Safeway.


 


At this point, I felt safe with the contract, signed it and paid the down payment of $640.00 on my American Express card. Jeff left.  Two months later I was sent a copy of the magazine with my advertisement in it.  The very next month, May I went it to the Local Campbell Safeway to look for my advertisement magazine. None could be found, never had it, never saw it.  I called NAC, and Jeff Allen to find out why it was not in the Safeway in Campbell.  I was told they lost the contract with Safeway and now I am in the Nob Hill stores. I went to every Nob Hill Store near my restaurant, no magazine.  I decided to go to every grocery store with in a ten mile radius of Mama Mias in Campbell.  NO MAGAZINE.


 


I then called NAC/ VIDEO REPORTER, left messages with, a girl named Trisha (1-800-266-9104) who handles problems with advertising, I called 22 times, every morning and every evening, never got a call back.  I called Tanya, who handles the distribution (818-466-2206) at least 30 times, no calls back, I called Linda Miller at (818-466-2205) at least 20 times, she originally was contacted by me early on and said I could have a full refund. I never got my money nor any calls back from her. I called Kate Lee at (818-466-2205); she did answer her phone and said for 3 months that she was working on my account to fit it. Finally she said to me that they lost the accounts with Safeway, and now my advertisement and magazine is in a 7/11 about 6 miles away. 7/11 is not what I signed up for, nor is it my customer base.


 


Kate Lee then told me I had to call their attorney, Don Slayton (818-992-5675 or cell 818-486-6858) if I wanted any on my money back.  I called Don; he said he could only give back half of what I paid.  So basically he wants me to pay for something I never got, and half it all he can do.  Wrong!!!!  I never got my placement in the Safeway in Campbell, I never got my placement in Felton, I never got a placement in a grocery store near my restaurants, I never got copies or proofs that they were printed, and lastly I would never, never, never waste my money advertising in a 7/11 store.


 


I deserve all my money back, the down payment of $640.00 on the American Express card, and the $1,019.00 CHARGED ON MY CARD without my knowledge back.  If you go on line and check out the history of this company, you will see many many people are having the same issues I am having.
