I went on line and put in for a quote, I had several companies contact me one of which was Moving Van Lines I informed them that I already had a quote from another that was lower than the quote they gave me. I was speaking to a sales rep name Brian; he informed me that he would work up a quote and call me back I gave him a list of all of the items that I would need to have shipped. When Brian contacted me he gave me a quote of $818.70 I asked him to send it to me in an email which it took several days for me to get, when I got the quote I call and tried to contact Brian but to no avail I could not reach him so I replied to his email informing him that he had left off several items for which he gave me a quote for I never got a response. Since this was a last minute move and it had to be done in thirty days.

I called the company back on 04/29/08 to try to resolve the issues with the quote but still did not reach anyone I called back the next day and finally spoke to someone else who informed me that it would be much more that Brian originally informed me it was going to be I immediately ask for Brian they finally put him on the phone when I told him about the quote he told me that he talk to a lot of people and don't remember what items I told him I had, he proceeded to add the additional items as he would call it which I gave him when he was preparing the original quote and gave me a different amount I told him that was not right because these items was suppose to be listed on the original quote and he was trying to rip me off and that I was going to try to find another moving company which he informed me go right ahead we don't want you kind of business anyway.

I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor and was transferred to someone name Randi when I informed her of the situation she told me that she would reprimand Brian for what he did. She took a look at me quote and proceeded to add the items that Brian left off the originally quote and gave me a different amount I told her that was not fair because these items was told to the person who took the initial call but I will pay the amount that she gave me because it would be hard to find another moving company on such notice the amount was $928.00 she said she would email me the quote so I could look it over sign it and send it back to her it was not until the next day which was 05/01/08 the day before I was suppose to move that I got the quote which stated $995.10 and not $928.00 like she told me also she only adjusted two items and left of some of the other thing that was supposed to be added to the quote.

When I call on 05/01/08 to speak to Randi and finally got her on the phone she said she never spoke to me and transferred me to someone else stating that I was talking to that person that person transferred me back to Randi I explained the whole thing over again and she said she would call me back which she did not I had to do a follow up call to try and straighten things out to no avail she would not adjust the invoice items or quote I told her that fine I would pay this quote but I will not pay for the items that she left off and I submitted the binding quote with my electronic signature she informed me that the movers would be there on 05/02/08 between 4:00 & 5:00 PM that day.

On 05/02/08 I went home and waited for the movers for 4 hours which my landlord was also waiting because I needed to give him his keys and sign off on the lease the movers kept calling every hour and saying the will be there in the next hour then in the next forty five minutes then in the next half hour, they finally showed up around 8:00PM. One of the movers introduced himself as the manager and said I needed to sign all of these papers when I started looking over the papers I told him I was not going to sign it because there was nothing listed he told me that they could not move anything until the papers was signed ad soon as I started to sign the papers the other two movers started moving the boxes and labeling I really could not see what they were doing because I was trying to read the papers.

When we got to the packing list and I asked what it was for he told me that there is a state law that they had to packed all of my thing in plastic bags or boxes before they can move it, I informed him that I never heard of such a law and I was not going to pay for it he then informed me that he was not going to move any of my items that was not packed or wrapped it was getting very late and I was going to be driving all day the next day so I signed the papers so that I can get some rest and my landlord can get his premises. when they were done he told me that my total was $2398.00 and misusing the deposit of five hundred that they would need 70% of the total remaining bill I told him that I was not going to pay that because I did not ask for the packing service which that bill was $863.00 and he also stated that I had 16 extra boxes which was untrue because everything was packed except for a few items that was in my dresser and a microwave when I told him to unload all of my things and he refused he called his dispatcher and I spoke to the dispatcher and told him the same thing regarding the packing list and extra items when I gave the phone back the dispatcher asked was my items or furniture crappy which the mover informed that they not. I told them that I would pay $200.00 and I will call in the morning to speak to someone about this since it was now after 10:00PM.

When I called the next day and ask to speak to Randi I could not reach her I asked to speak to the president of the company they stated that he was not there I asked for his voice mail when they put me through it was full I could not leave a message I called back and asked to speak to the vice president they put me through to a voice mail and I left a message.

On 05/03/08 Randi called me back and said she would like to try to resolve this issue I informed her that I was on the road and if she can call me on Monday which she never did. On 05/05/08 I called and asked to speak to Randi she was not there I left a voice message and she never called back, I called the next day and spoke to her informing her of the issues and letting her know that her movers miss represented themselves because there was no such law that they had to pack my furniture they was they did and that I could not check it out that night because my computer was already packed but when I did check it out that I found out they gave me false information and I will not pay for anything on the packing list except for the 1 wardrobe box and the box that they put my microwave in and I will not pay for any of the extra items and I gave her a list of 5 thing that I did not mentioned to her on the initial quote at that time she said she would call me back which she did not for two days when I finally called her back she informed me that she would give me $100.00 of the remaining balance. I told her that that was not acceptable to me because I did not ask them to pack my furniture the was they did and also some of the items that they charged me for I did not have she them informed me that she would have to speak to someone else to because she could not authorize anything more and she will call me back which of course never happened.

To make an already long story short this company is trying to defraud me and they never call back or do what they are suppose to do and they will not let me speak to any above anyone in that office and they are refusing to deliver my goods without payment although I have informed that they have an binding agreement and they are violating it I also informed them that I will not pay for any storage because I have been asking for my items to be delivered before the thirty days and they refused. I have all of my documents to prove what I am saying.

Insurance Co Underwriters at Lloyds London / Bell and Clements

POSTED: Wednesday, March 25, 2009

I finally got my belongings most of which was damaged and I filed a claim with the adjusting firm which was listed and after three months I discovered that this was another scam put in place by this moving company to try and frustrate the customers to give up and not get paid for the damages caused by their movers. I discovered that the adjusting firm was part of the moving company. I contacted the FMCSA and got the name of the actual insurance company which is Underwriters at Lloyds London when I contacted them they told me that the actual handler was Bell and Clements and gave me the name and email address to contact the handler Jason Harding which I have attempted to contact but got no response what a surprise. I was finally contacted by an adjuster that said he was hired by the insurance company to handle my claim which still isn't handled since November of 2008. The adjuster keep contacting me but with no results he keep wanting information about the company; if he is the adjuster hired by the insurance company shouldn't he have all of their information? I think that is a tactic to keep me from filing a complaint against them also all the while just keeping me informed until the time have run out and it is too late for me to do anything. I think the insurance companies for these moving should be held as responsible as the moving companies because they are also doing everything to not re-embers the costumer for the loss and damages of their property. It has now been almost six months and the insurance company is still making excuises and hasn't paid my claims. What a surprise.

I got my belongings eventually but to add insult to injury most of it was damaged. I filed a claim with what they said was their adjusting firm only to find out that it was not that also was part of the business to deter customers and frustrate them into giving up and not getting paid for damages caused by this moving company. I finally got the real insurance company name and filed my claim which I am still getting the runaround about getting paid. They are now telling me that if the moving company don't corporate with them and contact them they cant pay my claim which I don't think is right considering that they have had their own adjusters contact their insured before who refused to corporate with them and also they know that they are out of business because when I checked the FMCSA website it stated that the company have no license and the insurance company have cancelled their insurance also I have provided them with proof that the moving company damaged my goods and they even noted the damages and signed the household goods descriptive inventory list. Not only are the moving companies ripping off the consumers their insurance company is doing the same thing.
