In January I hired Mr. Appliance of Boca Raton to fix a dryer. They came out, diagnosed the problem and had to order a part. They quoted me for the repair and I gave them a down payment of $170. After this point it became clear that I had made a mistake by hiring them. When I finally got in touch with someone to confirm the part was delivered and to schedule the repair, the tech who came to my home was unable to do the repair. I made multiple attempts to speak with the supervisor about the issues and to reschedule the repair. When I did not receive a call back I expressed my frustration with them and they agreed to cancel the service and issue a full refund. After 2 weeks I had not received the refund in the mail and began calling to inquire about the status of the check. I was constantly told "I'll look into it" or "I"ll get back to you" and after a month of waiting I filed a complaint with the BBB regarding the matter. After another few weeks I was finally told they had my check, but would not issue the refund until I removed my complaint. I stated I would not remove it and I was told I could speak with the Supervisor "Mike" about the matter. I made multiple attempts to contact "Mike" and was told he was out of the office and that they would leave a message. At this point they are now sending all my calls to voicemal or to their service and I have yet to receive a return phone call from anyone at the company. I have contacted the Corporate Dwyer Group which is the company that issues the franchise, the BBB, multiple local news agencies and the Florida State Attorney General Consumer Protection Division. After more research online I have found that this company has multiple poor reviews on various sites and the glowing reviews are hard to believe in hindsight about their service and "great customer service." If I don't get my money back it will be worth it if no one else gets scammed out of their money.
