CASS WEST - the owner of MR. GOODALL SERVICES IS A SCAM ARTIST - DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY.

I hired Cass West and his cleaning company based on his Kijiji ad to do my move-out clean out of my rental. Since I was working a full-time and have very strict deadlines at work, I couldn't take time off so I decided to hire someone to do it. I've done it before and it turned out really well so I had no reason to suspect otherwise.

He said he charges move-out cleans for $200 - he said it may be pricier - BUT his services include carpet cleaning. "Last-minute" is not a problem and he even told me he'll give me a break on the price and only charge me $140 as a first-time customer to give me a break. I decided not to respond right away to his offer and wait for other cleaning quotes. Of all the people I talked to on Kijiji - he was the only one who called right away (as in seconds after I responded to his ad) and he seemed eager to book a cleaning with me. That should have been my first clue.

When he came to my apartment I told him I had 2 cats and then he proceeded to quote me $424 only for the carpet cleaning and then an extra $400 for the actual cleaning -- A FAR CRY from the original $200 ALL-IN that he quoted me. I thought that was preposterous then he made a weak attempt to negotiate and said he will give me a break on the actual cleaning if I went ahead with the carpet cleaning. He said he will remove my garbage for me as part of his services. He also said he has 2 people working with him so there's 3 of them cleaning my place that's why it was pricey but he promised I will be satisfied with the results. Because I was running out of time and I was still not finished moving, I went ahead and agreed with the carpet cleaning. I was still busy running back and forth taking stuff and garbage out so I didn't check on what he was doing. When I came back, the carpet cleaners had left (which was about 15 minutes after they arrived) and he said all the stains were gone. I thought that was really quick for a carpet cleaning. I was still moving stuff to my new house so I told him I will be back and he said he will be back as well  because he had another client calling him for an emergency job and he will come back and clean my place that night. He then proceeded to write an invoice -- and what a joke, this guy DOES NOT EVEN KNOW HOW TO FILL OUT AN INVOICE -- and before I left he demanded the payment for the carpet cleaning right away. I told him I'd pay by cheque because I didn't have enough cash on me (this is probably the only good thing about this transaction).

Well, after I had moved stuff to my new place he called again and said he will just come back and clean in the morning. I told him I had to surrender the keys to the old place at 12noon and he said that will not be a problem since he (and his staff) will be there at 9am to clean to get me out on time.

Well the next day I had to go to work but I called this Cass West to attend a meeting and was given the day off by my boss to help finish my move. TO MY UTTER SHOCK, when I got to my old place, NO ONE was there. Not a single person was working and NOT A SINGLE THING HAD BEEN CLEANED. I started texting and calling him and he wouldn't respond right away. When he did respond he said it will be completed as promised and he will adjust his price accordingly. Well I went ahead and moved all the junk and garbage myself and he arrived a full 1 1/2 hour late, and then proceeded to lie to my face and tell me him and his staff were there earlier to spray cleaning stuff on the ovens and counters but he had to step out to get better stuff because what he had wasn't doing the trick. I WAS NOT HAPPY and I told him my disapppointment. He again assured it will be done on time and his staff will be on their way. Since I had no choice at this point, I told him to get going so we can finish and went ahead and continued to move my own garbage. Well, whenever I checked in on him, HE WAS ALWAYS ON THE PHONE TALKING. One time he was just standing by the window and when I peered in, he picked up the rag that was on the floor and started wiping a wall. At the end of the job he said that all the cleaners he tried on the oven would not work because the stuff is caked on. THIS GUY IS A FLAT-OUT LIAR AND SCAMMER.

Then when we paid up, he said charged me only $275 for the cleaning (BTW his "staff" never showed up), BUT HE WENT AHEAD AND ADDED GST on top of the carpet cleaning job the night before and the cleaning he did that morning. He didn't mention this beforehand. The building management was coming so we squared away and he didn't stay for the inspection (which he said he would back me up during IF they tried to charge me extra for stuff he did already). When the building manager inspected the place, they said the place is not clean at all, pointing to the oven, sinks, floors, cabinets and counters. When I said that the cleaner tried different sort of cleaners on the oven, the manager quickly showed my by removing the grease with her fingernails -- and the grease came off! She said if her finger can remove the grease, ANY OVEN CLEANER CAN REMOVE IT. She pointed out to me that this Cass West didn't clean my place and instead just wiped everything with soapy water. Unfortunately they have to clean the place and charge me back for it. But she took photos and told me she'll show me what it looks like after they have cleaned the place with the cleaning company they hire. She recommended I stop payment on those cheques and offered to be my witness if Cass West/Mr. Goodall Services decides to take me to small claims court. 

After that I went online and googled "Mr. Goodall Services" and found all the reports on this website and another consumer complaints website. I also found complaints on him on the BBB. I should have checked before I hired this guy.

NEVER AGAIN... I AM SO MAD AND UPSET I WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW WHAT A SCUMBAG / SCAM ARTIST this Cass West is. He is going to keep doing it over and over again unless we all put a stop to it.
