I should have know that there were going to be problems when the representative for Mr. Sandless (Justine) gave me a quote over the phone. I asked him how he could quote a job without seeing it and he simply said that he's been doing this a long time. I was optimistic, so I scheduled them to come do the work.
That morning I decided that I didn't want to include the bedroom. So when the guys showed up to do the work, I talked to them about getting a revised quote since I was reducing the scope of work. They said that I would have to call and speak to Justine. My first mistake was allowing them to start the job without getting the price worked out with Justine. I called Justine several times that morning and left messages about getting a revised price. He never called me back - ever!!! The lead man on the job, however, was able to get in touch with him - funny. After several phone calls and conversations, they said that the price would only be reduced a couple hundred dollars. Apparently, their quotes are based on a flat fee of opening the cans of product, not on the square footage.
Before, they started the job I went over all the issues on the floor w/the lead man. I asked about the paint & and the scratches and I was told that the product they use is like a liquid sandpaper and wouldn't be a problem. Then I asked if they could "help" my boyfriend carry the TV & a couple pieces of the entertainment center. Apparently, this is a chargeable action as well. If I knew they were going to charge us, I would have let them do it by themselves.
But the kicker was the actual job itself. I had asked for the high gloss finish. However, you couldn't even see the reflection of the window on the floor. The stain color wasn't consistent and there were dark & light streaks all over the floor. They moved the entertainment center back into the room too soon and left felt-pad marks in the finish. And I had to go around and clean up all the stain that they got all over the trim & doors.
When Justine called me to see how the job went, I told him about the issues. He said he would send the guys back out to look at the floor. When they came back, they told me that the only way to fix it was to sand it and redo the whole floor from scratch. However, when they reported that to Justine, he called me to come see the floor w/the owner.
I scheduled time off from work to be there but when he showed up, the owner wasn't with him. He told me that the guys didn't know how to use the products and it was their fault. He said that Mr. Sandless was not willing to sand the floor and that they shouldn't have told me that they would do that. They only thing he would allow them to do is to put a chemical striper on sections of the floor so they could try to blend out the streaks.
When the guys came back again to do the work on the floor. They were late and didn't have enough time to do the job. They told me that they would be willing to sand the floor and fix it "ON THE SIDE" if I paid them a minimal fee to cover expenses. They said that the chemical striper that Justine wanted them to use wasn't going to fix the problems.
I agreed to this and they informed me that Justine had typed up a "paper" for me to sign. Even though they didn't do anything to the floor that day, they wanted me to sign this paper so they didn't get into trouble w/Justine. They gave me their word that they would work with me to set up a date/time to come back and would get all the equipment and supplies needed to do the job right.
When I read the paper, it basically said that by signing I agreed to and accepted the work they had done to fix the floor and was pleased with the outcome. Once again, I was optimistic that they would keep their word and signed the paper so they wouldn't get into trouble. Big mistake! Guess what? They never came back and fixed the floor. Shocker!!
What a waste of time & money. Every time they had to come back and look at the floor, I had to take time off work. I wouldn't recommend MR. Sandless to anyone ever!! I tell all my friends and put it on my Facebook account. I will shot it from the highest mountains and try to reach as many people as possible. They are the biggest RIP OFF out there.

BIGGEST RIP OFF EVER

I should have known that there were going to be problems when the
representative for Mr. Sandless (Justine) gave me a quote over the
phone. I asked him how he could quote a job without seeing it and he
simply said that he's been doing this a long time. I was optimistic, so
I scheduled them to come do the work.
That morning I decided that I didn't want to do the bedroom floor. So
when the guys showed up to do the work, I talked to them about getting a
revised quote since I was reducing the scope of work. They said that I
would have to call and speak to Justine. My first mistake was allowing
them to start the job without getting the price worked out with

gloss finish. However, you couldn't even see the reflection of the
windows on the floor. The stain color wasn't consistent and there were
dark & light streaks all over the floor. Some of the paint and all the scratches
were still there. Besides the fact, that I had to go around and clean up all the
stain that they got all over the trim & doors. They moved the furniture back into the
room too soon which left felt-pad marks in the finish.

Shocker!!
So much for being optimistic! That whole experience was the biggest waste of time
& money ever. My floors still look like crap since I can't afford to pay another contractor
to fix them correctly. I wouldn't recommend Mr. Sandless to anyone - ever!!
They are the biggest RIP OFF out there.
