I purchased Laptop in Sept when they had they $100 rebate, and ONLY purchased it because of this otherwise it was over my budget. I registered the rebate the DAY I got the machine, filled out all the online forms and then printed the rebate form and mailed all the required information THE SAME DAY which was months before the required postmarked time to send. Chose to get the "expedited" rebate for $9 less. Well come December nothing, so I proceed with my tracking number to the MSI rebate track site and put the number in and it says invalid. So then I email them asking whats going on and get a reply back sorry if you want help please call. For the heck of it now I check the tracking website again with my number and what do you know? Rebate declined for lack of all documentation, which I SENT THE SAME DAY I GOT THE MACHINE well within the required time. I will be turning this over to BBB and filing a fraud case as I see online that im not the only one getting scammed by MSI.

A similar thing happened to me.

In order for me to get the "rebate" I had to harass MSI for months for them to send it to me. It took so long that by the time it arrived, I had already left the country for a year. When I returned to find the Mastercard in my mailbox, it turns out that it already expired. I'm still resentful towards MSI for this. I bought the laptop at Newegg instead of Amazon because of the 100 dollar rebate. It comes across like their business model is to promote the rebate, but make it so annoying to receive it that most customers will give up trying.
I recommend the laptop, but I don't trust MSI as a company anymore because of how they shortchanged me. If I could get the same computer specs in another brand, that's who I will buy from in the future.
