My story is not much different from any one else posting on here. My wife was interested in starting up a vending company. She found Vendstar on franchisegator.com then was contacted by a sales person (John Libretti). We purchased 50 machines.
My wife was then called by Joe Spineilli the Vice President saying he had a great deal for her. She informed me of the call. We both talked to Joe Spineilli on the phone and were told that he had a person bye 100 machines then back out of the contract with the locating company Specialty Marketing.
He also said the locating company had secured locations for the machines and wanted to get machines in the locations before the competition did. My wife had said during this conversation that she wanted to wait to see how the first 50 did. Joe Spineilli reassured her that it was a great deal she couldn't go wrong. The return would be great, and it was easy to do. Well, that is ALL LIES & BULLCRAP. The Locating Company Specialty Marketing and Jennifer Buffington had no idea what was going on and my wife had called Joe Spineilli to find out what the deal was. Larry Kaplan had called her back and said he would talk to the locating company. I know that was a lie. Nothing was done.
The Only reason we purchased the machines was because of the reassurance of there being locations for the machines. There were no locations. No one wants the machines. The locating Company Specialty Marketing is as much of a SCAM as MultiVend.
The Owner Jennifer Buffingtom is unprofessional and rude (But that will be another report). My wife was just given the run around. Everyone is out of town when you need to get in touch with them, or your call is never returned.
The machines are ugly, poor quality, and easy to break into. You can use just about anything to get them to vend out product, cardboard size quarters, paper, straws, just about anything. THESE MACHINES ARE F-ing GARBAGE!!!!!!
My wife started investigating the company and has found out (with the help of another vending company) That Multivend has violated Illinois Law (Business Opportunity Sales Law of 1995 815 ILCS602/5-1) She wrote a letter to Multivend requesting a refund due to Multivend Fraudulent actions and complete disregard of Illinois law. The letter below is Ned Weavers reply (I removed our address) we are still waiting to receive it Via Federal Express.

RE: Multivend, LLC
Dear Ms. -----
I am writing in response to your letter of September 21, 2007. Multivend takes its obligations to comply with all applicable laws, including Illinois law, seriously. In that regard, I have personally investigated the matters raised in your letter.
As an initial matter, with respect to the statements that Multivend violated Illinois Business Opportunity Law, Multivend is exempt from the law on the basis of its net worth. In addition, the results of my investigation are inconsistent with the statements made in your letter regarding "secured locations." Multivend does not maintain any financial relationship or affiliation with any professional locating company, including Specialty Marketing, and neither guarantees income nor sells or secures locations. Multivend's company policies prohibit the making of any representations that Multivend is affiliated with a professional locating company and my investigation has confirmed that no such representations were made.
If you would like to discuss these matters further, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Ned Weaver
Chief Executive Officer
My wife replied to the letter asking for documentation to support Ned weaver's claim that they are exempt from Illinois law due to net worth. Ned's reply is that there is no documentation, that the exemption is self executing. Well all of this information has been forwarded to the Illinois Securities Department. And we have been assigned a lawyer and a case number. For other victims in Illinois you can contact the Illinois Security Department in Chicago at 312-793-3988 and ask about Multivend LLC case # 00467. The Lawyer Is Sandy Freiman. The Investigator is Al Snow I want to thank Chuck Machado for providing information to assist in my case. My next step is to file a report with the BBB. My wife has already filed a report, but their reply was that the contract is not with her, but her name is on the invoice. I am just the one the made the financial transaction. And to the person who replied with all the lies, my wife will not be my soon to be ex-wife, more lies and bull-crap. Can you not come up with something better.
To all the liars at Multivend may karma come around and get even with you. Someday you will answer for all the crap youve done, One way or another. Your all low life and you can burn in Hell.

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Location companies
AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

I will tell you that locations companies are a different entity.
What they do is go to locations and tell the business owners that they will pay about $20- $30 for the placement of the machine to be placed and then when 2 months go by you will have to take it out of the location. That is true.
I won't say what machines I have but if you have time its like cake work. It takes lots of time for everything to happen. You are better off locating the machines your self. Those machines I agree with you are cheap plastic and yes easier to break into. I have better ways and decent thing to do as well as service all my locations b/c I need to see what is making money.
