Mumford And Miller Concrete Construction Builders Proceed with CAUTION when using MUMFORD and MILLER Middletown Delaware

I would like to make public my experience with MUMFORD and MILLER in Middletown, DE. What follows will be based on my opinions, personal experiences and lack of resolution to my problems. I would advise any potential customer of this business to research the company and consult with people who have previously dealt with the company. Mumford and Miller is a large concrete contractor operating out of Middletown, DE. They also have built homes and developments and that is where my complaint will be directed.

I purchased a new home built by Mumford and Miller and my nightmare began. A partial list of the problems I faced include, poor craftsmanship, poor overall fit and finish, improper grading, flooding crawlspace, mold development, drafts at all windows and doors, porch cracks, driveway cracks and crumbling surface, roof leak, paint job apparently done by helen keller, deck plank damage, doors that would not operate properly, garage door that would not seal properly, faulty attic steps, nitrates and other dangerous contents in well water and the list could go on and on. What followed was almost 2 years of attempts to have these problems corrected.

On occaision I would see an employee and they would attempt to pacify me by allegedly performing a repair job. Results typically never lasted more than a few days and were obviously just band aid attempts at solutions. I encountered horrible customer service and arrogant treatment at the hands of the operator.
I discovered there were numerous other homeowners within my development with similar problems and concerns and getting the same results....little or none.

Legal action appears to be my only remedy at this point in time, but it is costly and probably not worth the effort of fighting a large company with deep pockets. My hope is to share my story and bad experience on any available outlet and encourage research on this company by anyone who may consider using their services. In general those businesses who don't meet up to their customers expectations eventually earn their just rewards or lack thereof.

So if your buying a new or used home in Delaware find out who built that home and find out as much as you can about them. Talk to neighbors, go to other developments built by the same developer, do web research find out as much as you can because birds typically don't change their feathers.
