Regular charges began appearing over a year ago ($9.95). No idea how/why the charges started appearing.

Bad habit of not checking _every_ charge on the bill for reasonablness.

Finally caught it. Why? the charge went up to $11.95.

Called the number on the charge on the bill. No answer -- machines and eternal hold.

Called AMEX. They said they would remove the current charge.

You have to wonder: If sooo many people are being ripped-off, and these rip-offs are reported, why does AMEX (and MC and Visa...) continue to allow MWI/Galleria (et al) to use their clearinghouses for payments?

MWI/Galleria (et al) are not alone in their guilt -- the credit card companies are sharing in the ill-gotten profits.
