MWI Homeworksplus Charged $139.95 to credit card Stamford Connecticut

MWI*Homeworks showed up on my credit card statement on the same day that I cancelled my credit card. I have never heard of this company before. Most times when I receive a charge on my credit card statement, it lists a telephone number to reach the company. Not this one.

The company states that they are a membership company that offers discounts on home improvement products and discounts at home improvement stores. I never ordered this and defifnitely never would have. I am a student and I live in a dorm. I cannot think of a reason as to why I would need home improvement products.

I called my credit card company to dispute the charge and they gave me a phone number to contact them. The recording stated that they were expieriencing longer than normal delays due to a system upgrate and that they thought it would be best to call another time. I looked online to see if I could find any additional information, I found a company with the same name and they stated that they have received thousands of calls about this and that they are in no way affiliated with that company.

Due to the overwhelming amount of calls that they have been receiving about this, they found a phone number on the real company. The phone number that I finally got through on is 1-888-681-7216.

They claim that they will credit my account within 3-5 business days, but I will have to check with my credit card company and see if they actually do.
