In a recent statement sent to to me by The GM Card there was a charge of $149.95 by MWI*Simple Escapes2. I did not authorize such a charge, nor did I know what MWI*Simple Escapes is. Upon calling the telephone number shown on the charge (877-362-3067) I was treated to skilled double talk (by "Belinda") before I insisted that the charge be reversed and that I wanted nothing whatsoever to do with Simple Escapes2.

When I checked the Rip-off Report I was not surprised to find MWI*Simple Escapes2. I'm disapponted that The GM Card allowed this "vendor" to use its services. I hope that GM Card does not allow this to happen again.

GM CREDIT HELPED MEMBERWORKS IN MUGGING YOU

AUTHOR: BRUCE - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, February 24, 2003

You should call GM credit and ask them how much they were paid for your financial info including your card number.

MemberWorks Inc. is a large company that pays card companies, banks, telemarketers, and large companies that we trust millions of dollars for consumers financial info. They then hope that when they charge your account that you will not notice or will not no what to do to grt a refund. you got you money back, so you are a failure. But they play the odds and many do not notice. How else could a company that really has no product have $450,000,000 in revenue.

They have over 6,000,000 members and I would bet that over 60% do not now they are members or do not know how to cancel.

Call on your GM Card and ask them how many millions they paid for card members financial info or if they were going to recieve 25% of $149.95 they were going to charge you every year.
