On November 5th of 2003 I was contacted by an individual stating that he was associated with Bank Of America. He stated that due to my association with the bank that i was being offered a Bank of America credit card with a 3000.00 balance and fixed rate. He stated that there was a 299.00 processing fee, which i didnt have the best credit, but did want another card and had actually sent in an appilcation to Bank America about two weeks earlier.

On November 11th the transaction was deducted from my account. Seeing that it was not Bank of America I called the number once again. The individual apologized for any misunderstanding, but that they were a third party representative for several banks and that the credit card would be arriving soon. But that it may be up to 15 business days for the transaction to be complete and my card arrive. I thought this quite too long for a credit card, but they already had my money so i figured i would wait it out and see.

On December 10th I started calling back, there was always an excuse as to why the card had not arrived; we had internal shipping problems, fed ex is slow, UPS isnt doing this, so on and so on.

On Dec 24th i recieved "the package." It was some bundle of papers, a bunch of junk really that anyone can download off any credit repair site on the internet. This package was suppose to show me how to repair my credit and get things off my report. So I once again called the 1-866-554-0556. I was told at this time that the card did not arrive with the package, it came seperately and that this package i recieved was part of the processing fee along with the credit card and how sorry the were about the misunderstanding. But have no worries the card should arrive the first week of January, because.... there was a delay.

January 9th, I call up once again as there is no card. The representative tells me well it should be just another week or so. When i ask to speak with someone inregards to a refund, I get hung up on. I call back three other times, and after the long wait, get hung up on again as soon as i mention the word refund.

Here it is January 19th and no card, and several other hang ups when i call the number. I was convince some time ago that there would be no credit card and no refund. SO i have already taken it to contact the Better Business Bureau as well as the Federal Trade Commission who i have sent corresponding emails to twice as well as have one of their representatives contact me on the phone for further information. Since that time i have also contacted Bank of America Credit Divison and my attorney.

Hopefully no one else will get caught up in the scheme, but if your reading this...then your probably about in the same boat as i am.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
