My American Shipper is a parcel-forwarding service that receives international buyers' goods purchased from US merchants, then consolidates and forwards them overseas.

They refuse to use a customs declaration you give, and insist on taking prices from merchants' invoices. They sometimes even look online for those prices rather than accept what you tell them. Then you get slapped with a bill for import duty because items are overvalued on the customs declaration.

Also difficult about complying with special requests that their FAQs say are OK.

They then inform the customer after the fact (after you've paid and your items have been shipped) that your shipment will not comply with the request you made.

It is a case of the customer needing to meet the standards of the service provider they are paying.
