June/06 I created a Myspace account, month later it DISAPPEARED. Contacted Myspace (several attempts). I believe my email(as well as others) are replied by a computer, not a real/live person how else can the idiotic responses that don't pertain to my problem be explained?! I also read that several others' accounts were deleted (in July) but MySpace denies this & blames it on the user.

I cannot even re-create another account. My info cannot be processed. Still no correct response from MySpace. I'LL FIND ANOTHER PLACE to keep in touch with my family & friends.

Maybe its YOUR FAULT!

AUTHOR: DeepThroat - (Canada)

POSTED: Sunday, January 07, 2007

One of the most common reasons an account is deleted, is because they were breaking one of MySpace's rules. It happens all the time, try taking the time to read the policy when and if you ever sign up again. You didnt get ripped off. You never paid a dime.

You should expect better

AUTHOR: George - (U.S.A.)

The gentelman in Portland that said since it was free you had no right to complain was incorrect. Just becasue myspace's business model rely on advertising and not on memberships does not mean users should not expect a certain level of customer service.

Response to my Responses

AUTHOR: J - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 08, 2006

I appreciate all the responses to my "ripoff" report thank you. My responses to said responses are as follows, there's more than one way to rip-off than monetarily (FIGURE IT OUT)so don't offer something if you're not prepared to back it up and MySpace has sponsors that pay, thats why its $ free for the Joe or Jane, hence: pop-ups & ads.

As for "glitches" in the system so be patient in order to speak with a real person, I've been waiting SINCE JULY 2006. There's news artiicles written regarding a so called July 06 "power outage" glitch which deleted several thousand accounts wherein Myspace still denies but somehow all of us are unable to find. Attempt to locate my profile, reads member has deleted profile, etc. , if I deleted my profile, why is myspace "unable to process your request" when I attempt to re-create my profile? Myspace has the system glitch. Thank goodness mine was a new account, no big deal the only loss is Myspace. My friends/family will keep in touch collectively via another place. Once again, thanks to those that genuinely cared enough to offer some sort of solution. Namaste!

You might want to run a scan on your computer

AUTHOR: Aafes - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 08, 2006

You might want to run a scan on your computer. There is a probability, if your account was "hacked" it could be due to a stolen password.

There are websites, programs and email attachments that will quietly install keystroke logger programs on your computer that will run unnoticed in the background. This is known as "phishing". These programs will record every keystroke you enter on the keyboard and email a log to the source at different intervals.

If you have accessed a password protected website, entered credit card numbers or other personal information it can easily be obtained.

If you have not already done so install and run a spyware detection program on your computer. Make sure you keep it up to date as these programs change constantly to avoid detection.

MySpace Hackers

AUTHOR: Katrina - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 07, 2006

Your account was probably deleted because it was hacked into. There was a bulletin posted by Tom in the last couple of weeks stating that some MySpace accounts have been hacked and deleted. Your account could have been one of the hacked accounts. I would suggest that you if you have any other accounts with the same password as your MySpace password, they be changed.

How is this MySpace's fault??

AUTHOR: Peter - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 07, 2006

There are many reasons why your account may have disappeared.

1- Perhaps you did not save each and every section of your profile. (Each section is saved individually, and you have to select this option as it is not saved automatically.)

2- Perhaps some unscrupulous person found out your password and deleted your account. This could happen especially if you use the same password for MySpace as you do for you email and other password-protected tasks.

3- Perhaps you, being a new MySpace member, are not certain how the service works and how to create and save a profile. Rather than blame MySpace, why not take the time to become educated and learn how to fix this issue?

Not a rip-off

AUTHOR: Sean - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 07, 2006

How can a free service rip you off? Myspace has 10s of millions of users registered with them, and they offer a free networking service. Sometimes, glitches happen, and accounts get deleted. If you want a real person to respond to your email, you will need to wait, since they get thousands of emails a day, and they have to deal with spammers, hackers, pedo's, etc. which are a higher priority than you. If you want open a new account, use a different email address.

Or else, you could make a petition that says each member of myspace should pay a monthly fee in order for myspace to higher more customer service associates to answer questions whenever a members profile is deleted during one of the many myspace database cleanings.
