I answered an ad on craigslist jobs for a mystery shopper thinking that the company was interested in feed back on their product, personnel and over all service.

What I found was that it was just a way for the company to generate "leads" for the telemarketers to call and solicit business, while the "mystery shopper company" earned money on the sales of the "referrals."

The first assignment was 22 online solicitations which caused tons of unwanted emails, phone calls and telemarketers harassing me about everything from life insurance to going back to school to home security systems and yes even attorneys calling me to try to sell their services to sue people for injuries and illnesses.

Even thought I completed said assignment within the time stipulated & followed each instruction, I was not paid. Excuses after excuses were given when I asked about my compensation.

If you want to spend 5 hours and make $18 and get flooded with unwanted emails and have your phone ringing off the hook with telemarketers, check them out - a waste of time and very annoying. No money to be made here. Just a carefully orchestrated way for you to play a 3rd party money generator...Shameful!
