I responded to an online UrbanVine employment ad. Shortly after that, Vivian Lim replied by email and asked for a telephone interview. It took nearly two weeks of mishaps to designate a time.  She sent emails asking, for example, if I was available Tuesday at 11. I would answer immediately--literally within one minute--that I was available, but then she would reply that time was already booked.  The problem was not on my end-- any time that she requested, I accepted.

Eventually, we designated a time to speak on the telephone, but she was about 45 minutes late with no explanation. The interview was rather vague, with Lim being hesitant to reveal the exact tasks associated with the position, the hours available, the technology being utilized or even the types of clients being serviced.

A few days after the interview, she asked if I could visit their location in Ballard for a test.  Yet another two weeks of strange runarounds happened. Again, any time that she requested, I accepted. She emailed asking if I was available at specific times, for example, she emailed me on Tuesday morning asking if I was available Thursday at 4 pm, and I replied immediately I was available then and requesting their address. Then I'd hear nothing from her until exactly at Thursday at 4 pm--the requested time of the test--with an email claiming she hadn't noticed my email until that moment, and now we'd have to reschedule for the following week. After two weeks of this, I decided to pass.

Something's off about this company. Perhaps they're intentionally giving local candidates the runaround so they can claim they couldn't find employees locally, and then hire H1B workers?  Perhaps it's just a case of serious disorganization. I recommend caution to potential clients and employees.
