We also signed a contract with Nanci Strickland CCDS to remodel our kitchen and other first floor areas including the powder bath.  This woman took money upfront for our appliances, granite, painter and dry wall contractor, as well as plumbing and doors.  We found out she never ordered our main appliances, did not pay most of the subcontractors and took off with our money and much more.

Like the other people reported, Nanci would use excuses as to why our appliances were not delivered to us on time.  She told us she had them in her garage for two months just so they would not get dusty from all the work being done.  We had thought we ordered new double doors to replace our back door but they never came in and when asked she had many excuses.  We finally told her that if the doors, that we had already paid her for, were not ordered yet to not proceed.  She said they were already ordered.  She lied and ordered them the following day and had at least 5 days to cancel the order.  This was brought to our attention by Home Depot. Of course the doors came in made wrong and we had to refuse the order.  She still has our money for that as well.
 
Nanci Strickland also put in the wrong dishwashers stating that the company sent the wrong ones but she wanted us to use these until the correct ones were sent. However, the correct dishwashers never came and we figured out the we were given discontinued scratched and dented ones.  Probably ones she scammed off a previous victim's remodel.

Regarding the subcontractors, it is amazing to hear their stories of how she would cry and say that we had not paid her and that she would need them to negotiate the price for her.  They did and boy did she benefit. Just on our granite alone she made out with $3,400.00  The poor granite guy, after hearing her cry, told her he would only charge her for the material.  Again, she is a professional scammer.  She paid him $3,000.00 and that was it.  We paid Nanci $6400.00 up front for the granite and now we have him as well as other subcontractors wanting their money.  Money we paid her up front already.  This is just one example from one of the subcontractors.  There are many!

This woman has a criminal record in more than one state.  I just hope this helps someone else from getting scammed on their remodel.  The BBB does not endorse her either.  I wish I'd known what the name of her former company was before we started this horrific ordeal.  Her old company name was The Interior Design Company.
