Nancy Neff - Gulf Properties Florida Vacation Condo Ripoff Won't refund Payment on Misrepresented Property Gulfproperties.com Florida

On August 9th, 2004 I booked a condo with Nancy Neff owner of unit 114 Sundunes at Navarre Beach Fl. for 6 nights beginning August 29th. I found this unit by searching the website VRBO.com and this is listing #41526 which was totally misrepresented in advertising on the VRBO site as well as personally by Ms. Neff. Ms. Nancy Neff is the owner and uses Gulf Properties on Navarre Beach to rent her totally misrepresented unit and VRBO.com to advertise it.

When we arrived we noticed it was very warm in the unit so we turned the air all the way down and waited over 2 hours for it to cool off. The AC was not working properly and when I called her she refused to even send maintenance to check the air conditioning which stayed at a warm 78 - 80 degrees in 97 degree heat the whole time.

She claimed this unit is large enough for 6 people. It is not. It had 1 couch and 1 chair in a living area about the size of a walk-in closet. (see the pic, that's all there is) Only 2 deck chairs (not 6) and 4 dinning chairs not 6. No dinning area, just a table pushed up into the wall (check the pic) All 3 TV's were 13 in. size. The complex is old and rundown and horribly in need of repairs, crumbly mortar, sticking elevator when it finally arrives and a pool that is totaly shaded by 2:30 PM.

We stayed 3 hours, never unpacked and left after contacting Ms. Neff to let her know we were unhappy with the unit. I informed Ms. Neff on several occasions before we arrived and before renting what I expected and she said I would not be disappointed. I was. I immediately called and emailed Ms. Neff which was clearly irritated I was complaining. Ms. Neff informed me she couldn't do anything about a refund that day, Sunday the 29th but that she would call the rental company the next day and then call me back on my cell phone.

She never called but has sent me an email instead in which Ms. Neff has refused even a partial refund of my $300 payment (pd by check) which was more than 1/2 payment for 6 nights. She also stated there were 2 chairs on the balcony and a small table. She said the rest of us could use beach chairs. Were we supposed to know to bring them without being told? If she had told me that I would not have reserved her unit.

These are not accomadations for 6 as she stated and is staed on VRBO.com. Caveat Emptor! Sundunes is a waste of money! A very disturbing experience and one that won't be repeated. I would like to warn others of this complex and this particular owner. She will tell you what you want to hear take your money and inform you it's YOUR problem not hers when you get there and see what you bought. We never spent the first night in this unit and actually went down the street and procured a unit in an upscale complex for nearly the same money with all the accomadations I had requested from Ms. Neff.

I would like for her to do the right thing and refund the $300 I paid her since I trusted in her "you won't be disappointed" remark. It is 9-1-04 and she has refused to refund any amount. Hopefully this will keep you from wasting money and ruining your vacation like we have.
