Napa Auto Parts unlawful payroll deductions Atlanta Georgia
*UPDATE EX-employee responds: Uniforms
*Consumer Comment: ROBERT DAU
*Consumer Comment: Never heard that one
Napa Auto Parts has been making all employees pay a monthly uniform rental fee since the middle of the 1990,s. Until recently an employee who wasnt afraid to voice his opinion researched and found it was illegal for this company to make you pay to advertise for them with thier name on the uniforms. The Dept Of Labor was contacted and they changed thier policy and they took over the monthly payments because as they say it was the right thing to do. It took close to ten yrs to figure that out. They have a lot of reimbursment for alot of employees for 10 yrs.

This is true, they will indimidate employees. The motto is hire someone with many kids and large debt - they will be so desperate for the job that they will do anything. This is not illegal, but predatory.

Please post the law you are referring to. I have never heard of it being illegal in any state to have employees cover part, or all, of uniform costs.
