On October 10th of 2007. I checked myself into this treatment program after many conversations with a intake person. I was told all the things I was looking for were in this program. I was very concered about my health as I had abused cocain for 27 years on a daily bases, I was told a physcian would do an extensive physical in fact I saw a nurse practiononer who listened to my lungs and gave me a TB test.
I asked about nutrition I was told I would be put with a team which included a nutrionalist not so. I was told there would be a team meeting after the withdraw and they would put together a program designed just for my needs. Everyone does the samething takes classed and talks to ashtrayes.
After 5 days and my head was clear I realized I had just given $ 29,000.00 to a bunch of conartist. On asking to leave I was followed and not allowed to make a phone call unless they were present. I was told I could write a letter and asked for a refund, of course they are refusing to give any of my money back. I did sign something that stated no refund, I did question this and was told that money would be return according to time spent. When I signed all my paperwork I had not sleeped or eated in about 72 hours and got high just before I got on the plan. I am looking for someone to take on a case against them as their parting words to me were the only reason I was leaving was to get high. I am clean with the help from real doctors and my family. I need more treatment and that was the last of my savings.
Please do your research and do not pay all up front this is a ripe off. They said I could come back, I would love to do this with a camera and sound, because this place is a acident waiting to happen.

I was enrolled in the Narconon program at Watsonville, CA. This is a joke. They will not "support" you for after 1 year from graduation. The rule is if you do not contact them 1 time a day for that "year" the you are done. They also forgot to mention if you relapse you need tp pay $10,000+ to get back "into the program" and do the saunca again which is useless. People get so de-hydrated and confused they think they are having flash backs and are "eliminating toxins". This is a joke, and is mentally too much for anyone too take. The people who buy into the program after everything is finished are victins of the church of schientology. At Watsonville, CA our so called "counselors" where former graduates.. maybe with 1-2 months more than you at the program. They in no way can or will deliver you the professional services your $29,000 will pay for. Not to mention after you graduate they offer you this "job" which pays $50 a week, and includes you attend or do work at the Chruch of Scientology.
This is a complete scam and has nothing to do with drug recovery, but has something to do with mind control, and taking advantage of the weak (drug addicts) to build their church and line their profits. Please avoid this, %100 complete personal experience.

Narconon is a scientology scam! Rub away as fast as you possibly can! Narconon is probably worse than the 'christian based' 'treatment' centers that have opened up across the US and Europe. Avoid both like the plague and get some real help!

NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS IS A LOT BETTER PROGRAM THAN NARCONON

EVEN BETTER, IT DOESN'T COST ANYTHING IF YOU KEEP GOING TO MEETINGS AND PRACTICE THE TWELVE STEPS...
I THINK SOME SCAMMERS TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THE WAY THAT THE ANONYMOUS SELF-HELP AND TREATMENT PROGRAMS NAME THEIR PROGRAMS.
ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS -- FOR THE RECOVERING ALCOHOLIC
ALATEEN - FOR CHILDREN WHOSE PARENTS HAVE ISSUES WITH ALCOHOL
ALANON - FOR THE SPOUSES,FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND OLDER CHILDREN OF ALCOHOLICS
IT IS EASY TO SEE WHERE NARCONON COULD BE CONFUSED WITH THOSE PROGRAMS AND PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE GETTING INTO A VERY OLD AND PROVEN PROGRAM -- ONLY IT'S NOT.
I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING AGAINST SCIENTOLOGY.
I DON'T THINK ANY RELIGIOUS DOCTRINE, TENETS OR PROPAGANDA SHOULD BE A PART OF YOUR TREATMENT PROGRAM.

I did heroin every day for four years and ruined my life and all but destroyed my family. I went to the Narconon Vista Bay program and graduated three years ago - haven't used drugs or alcohol since. Narconon taught me how to live my life and be happy without drugs. I'm now more successful than I ever was, even before doing drugs, and my friends from the program are too. Narconon works. Period. My family and I owe my life and our happiness to them.

Narcon Worked

In response to Suzie about her slam on Narconon Vista Bay;
My teenage daughter was addicted to Oxy Contin. She was stealing lying and unable to stick with college or a job. She had tried many other drugs before getting hooked on Oxy. Narconon vista bay was her salvation. it taught her things about confronting life and how to live constructively.
Suzie in her remarks stated that after five days and her head was "clear" she realized she was being ripped off. After 27 years of cocaine abuse Suzie surmized that her head was clear. My daughter stayed at Narconon for four months and completed graduation. Suzie failed to state that Narconon will treat you for as long as it takes. Then they follow up with patient for up to a year. patient can come back if they need to inside of six months after graduation. I know of no other plan that sticks with the patient through the duration of detoxing and treatment for one set price. "Real doctors" charge per visit and dont have a vested interest in the patient getting better just prolonging treatment.
After the withdraw phase which can be a week or longer {that Suzie described in her five days at Narconon} my daughter began a detoxification of her body that included exercise, sauna, nutrition and vitamin/herbs. Nothing to heavy is put upon the patient at this time so they can concentrate on getting the body back in shape. this is for a period of 3-4 weeks. Now this is where the rubber meets the road, and Suzie missed all of this stuff. The patient starts to confront all the things that made them turn to drugs. And yes it was tough for my daughter and she is now clean and thriving in life.
Suzie I only wish the best for you and that you go back to Narconon, aware that you need help. Start taking responsibility for yourself, then complete the program then you can have a right to complain.
