The buyer replaced the diamond we sent him with a Cubic Zirconia and lied to eBay about that.

On Jan 12, the buyer contacts us via eBay message and asked us a few questions about an item he saw on our eBay store. The item was a 2.02 Carat L/SI2 Very Good Cut Round Brilliant GIA Certified Loose Diamond.

On Jan 17, the buyer decided to purchase that diamond and sends a Payment of $8,629.00 via PayPal (Transaction ID #5RM611793K921674A).

On Jan 21, we insured the diamond for $8,629.00 and ship it out the buyer via UPS (Tracking #1Z2E696VA294155430) along with the original certificate report from GIA (Report #2195602169).

On Jan 22, the buyer received our package.

On Jan 25, the buyer open case on eBay stating that a local jeweler told him that the diamond we sent him is a fake diamond (Case #5191167355 Return ID #5106221155).

At this point, we have to say that we are an eBay seller since 2006 and a second-generation family-owned business in the diamond industry, and throughout our entire history we never sold fake diamonds. Furthermore, we never had a complaint from a customer stating a GIA Certified Diamond is fake. Not to mention that the diamond we sold and ship to the customer came with a Laser Inscription from GIA on the diamond.

Later on that day, we have replayed the customer that we would like to have a written proof from that “Local Jeweler” that the diamond is fake.

On Jun 28, the buyer replied with no written proof asking our company to provide him with a return shipping label to return the diamond.

On Fed 1, we email the buyer the returned shipping label (Tracking #1Z2E696VA291564815)

On Feb 6, we received a package from the buyer. We have to mention that the package was in good condition (meaning, it was not open on the way to us). When we opened the package, we instantly notice that the stone that was inside wasn’t our original diamond but a Cubic Zirconia ($5 value). Later that day we notified eBay about that incident and eBay asked us to file a police report. We also emailed the buyer asking him to send us back our diamond and send the Cubic Zirconia to AGI laboratories to have it certified and appraised.

On Feb 7, we file a police report at the Central District Miami Police Department stating the buyer replace a diamond with cubic zirconia (Case #1902070009698).

On Feb 11, we received the Cubic Zirconia from AGI laboratories. AGI grade it as 3.61 Carat Round Cut D/SI1 Cubic Zirconia and appraised it for $5 (Report # 04MLFS8D3JH3616302556SD).

This is the buyer information:
Name: Natari Honda
Email: naaa0905@gmail.com
Phone: (310) 803-9591
Address: **** E Artesia Blvd, Unit **, Long Beach, CA *****

We believe this buyer use a fake name and address.

At this is what we did:

  1. We contact eBay Resolution Center asking them to step up and help us with the buyer.
  2. We contacted GIA and requested them to FLAG this diamond.
  3. We submit a report on the Jewelers’ Security Alliance for a stolen diamond.
  4. We submit a report on the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3).
  5. We submit a report on www.RipoffReport.com.
  6. We hire a privet investigator to find the buyer real identity.

On Feb 23, eBay closed the case to the buyer favor.
