NAFS has been harrassing my husband and I for a few weeks now. The first time they left a message, it sounded important and I wanted to address any outstanding debts that my husband or I had so I called them back.
It turns out that they were calling for a man that has never lived with me or my husband and that we have never met. He may have had this phone number years ago but we've had this number for 4 years and NAFS JUST started calling. When I have called, a person has always answered but when they call it's always a recording.
The first time I spoke to someone, it was a female and it was almost UNREAL. She accused me of covering for this person and her last words were "Ma'am, you're obviously lying..." and then I hung up on her. I would have grabbed her by the neck if we were in face to face.
Now I don't answer phone numbers I don't recognize anyway but now my husband wants to report them to the police. I thought it might be some kind of phone phishing scam.
I had to call them and ASK what company they were because they have been so vague and unprofessional. After looking on here, I see that I'm not the only one they're doing this to.

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Send them a certified letter!
AUTHOR: Frank - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Monday, February 26, 2007
Stephanie,
See my post at www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff215225.htm. That report includes the text of a letter I sent to NAFS.
Be sure you send your letter certified, return receipt requested. Put the certified mail label/receipt number on the letter itself.
Do NOT sign the letter--leave it unsigned or just PRINT your name. Some dirtbag collection companies will forge your signature onto documents, so don't let them know what your signature looks like.
Since I sent my letter back in October 2006, the phone calls from NAFS have stopped.
Good luck!
