I purchased a vehicle from National Auto Sales approx June of 2012. I Chrysler Sebring 2007. After about 2 months, the car completely broke down on me, and I was told by the general manager to bring the car into the repair shop. I was told the car needed an alternator and the they would replace with new one.  I asked the DM if I could get a loaner car, because I this was very inconveniencing, I was rudely told NO.

To my surprise, as Iwas about to pick up my car from repair, I was told by the GM that he would not release the car to me unless I paid approx$ 600 for the repair. I was very perturbed and felt that this was very unpractical, unethical and unfair because  this was not my fault or responsibility at this poiint . I had made my payments on time and I still am today. Theforefore, not only did I have to pay for having to still get to work and have transportation while they had my car for about 5 days, I was expected to shove out and additonal $600 , not to mention still pay my car note.

The only way that I got my car back was to agree to pay addtional money when I made my car payment to pay off th e$600 repair. I really felt ripped off.  There were NO apologies of concern for my mishap. Just rudeness.  Since then, have had to replace the breaks that went bad, the battery quickly went bad, and having the battery replaced is expensive, because it is underneath. the motor, so I had to pay for the labor and battery. I have come out of my pocket so much for this vehicle.

Currently I am still having problems with the car cranking. I was told by a certified mechanic that I needed an althernator, when National Auto was supposed to have put a new one in my car. When I call the dealership about this,  I was cursed out by the owner and the GM to basically told me that they did not care and literally told me to "shut and and that I was stupid" ,and that there is not warranty for their work even though I paid for it , and to shove it up my a*s. They stated that they did not care about me reporting them because it would not be the first time. Please do not be fooled by the small down payment advertisement. You will regret it if you buy a car from them! I have never seen such a display of unprofessionalism and totally do not understand how that are allowed to continue to operator this way. I filed a complaint with the BBB. Many people do not file, but they need to. They have managed to "clean up their messes from previous complaints with the BBB, but more people should file their complaints with the BBB. You can file on line. It only takes about 10 minutes to do so!

First of all. Let's tell everybody the real story.

2 months after you bought the car the alternator went out. This is a 2007 Chrysler Sebring. The alternator was fine when you bought the car and there is no way to tell when it will fail.

Either way-the alternator failed and you called us for help. You were out of your warranty period but you said you had no money to fix it. We agreed to pay for it and let you pay us back over time.

Why people are so untrustworthy I just don't get. First of all, it was a new alternator. Why would we put a used alternator on and charge you for the price of a new one? That makes no sense at all. Also, you being a woman makes no difference whatsover. You were more than welcome to go to another repair shop if you didn't trust us for whatever reason and there is no reason we gave you that you couldn't. It's a very simple part that is ordered and installed.

I mean seriously, you guys must run into a lot of people that just screw you over to be so untrustworthy and assume so much negative and false stuff about us.

Anyways, you called 10 months after that and cussed out 3 employees at our location. They all told you the same thing. That you been in the car for a year and we are not responsible for repairs on your car. I didn't build the alternator, I just bought it and installed it. That's it. There was nothing shady going on and I have no idea why you wouldn't even assume so. Your battery was probably bad and you wouldn't replace it and it probably killed the alternator. However, I guess it's our fault. Unreal.

So then this customer gets mad that she had to replace her battery and it cost her $300. I have no idea why she is getting mad at us for this. So I finally get the call and she starts yellng. I tell her, "Lady will you please be quiet for 2 seconds so I can talk?"

Then she went off on me and called me every name in the book. Cussing like a sailor and then hung up on me. That was the extent of the conversation. I talked to her that one time and that one time only. Never took another call from her after that.

Then she goes on to file a BBB compalint and file a complain on here and completely fabricates the story-I mean completely. Honestly, I don't know how people can be this dishonest. It just baffles me.

It's actually one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had. Being respectful is a 2 way street. I think all she wanted to hear was I will pay for your repairs on your car even though you been in it a year. There was no way to win and that was that.

I am just grateful that we have thousands of great customers who are respectful and if they need help or have an issue they will approach us professionally and respectfully not by screaming and cursing. I don't know how she expected to get anything handled that way. I honestly can't believe she got this out of hand over an alternator and a battery in a car she has been in a year. I mean, such minor and common repairs. The whole thing is just baffling but the most disturbing is the complete lies she is telling. NOBODY ever said to shove it up your a**. All I ever said was lady will you please be quiet so I can talk which I thought I was actually being pretty nice considering how she was yelling and cursing and screaming on the phone.

If your reading this review this was the actual true story. I will defend our company because I will not put up with lies like this for everybody to read. It's unfair and not right and frankly it's libel against our company.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

The truth be told

Lady, I tried to help you but you would not stop talking. I would of been more than happy to assist you and help you out but it's hard when you yell non-stop and you completely lied on your complaint. I never told you to shove it up your a*s. That is unreal that you even said that. You drove your car for 6 months with no problems with your alternator. I mean, honestly you are complaining about your brakes and battery. You do realize that those need replacing eventually and they don't just run forever. I mean, unreal. This is one of the worst complaints I have ever dealt with and it makes me sad how you reacted to this whole thing and completely fail to take any responsibility. All we have done is help and all you have done is complain and lie. It's actually very sad.

Mistakes

AUTHOR: karmasabitch - ()

The first mistake you made was paying the $600. Some auto shops will do this, especially to women, because they know the woman probably does not know the law when it comes to this.  By law a auto repair shop needs to put the cost of repairs in writting. This protects both the consumer and the shop. If you agree with what is on the contract, you sign it then the repairs begin. What they did is not only morally wrong but illegal. I had this attempted on me a few years back. A repair was done on my car that was not authorized by me and when I returned to the shop and saw the "new" bill I told them to remove the part from my car immediately and they did.

As far as you still having problems with your alternator, I would have someone look at it. They can tell if it's new or not. That is what you spent the $600 on correct? If it is not a new part, call the police department and report it. Then you go back to the shop with the police report. Go with someone so you have a witness to the conversation. Tell them you want a new alternator like you paid for. If you can, get a statement from a shop (who varifies that it is not a new alternator) show that to both the police and shop that ripped you off.

They are assuming because you are a woman that you will just roll over and not follow through. Show them that a woman is a force to be reckoned with. I sure wish I knew you or lived closed to you. I would go down there and show them they made a huge mistake messing with you.

Good luck
