I recently was contacted regarding a new software that allows you to review Fed Ex tracking #'s for refunds due. It sounded great so I used there online "secure" site to process a credit card payment. I will copy and paste the email's that went back and forth from that point and you can decide for yourself.

Please note every single correspondence they sent me were in two's.. complete duplicate emails. I am not pasting their emails twice but that is in fact how I received them..

We recently received your credit-card order for our FedEx shipping Refund Recovery online software and home-based job opportunity. We thank you for your order, but we regret to have to tell you that, our company was unable to process your payment by credit card. If you would still like to order access to our invaluable income-producing online software at the temporarily discounted price of only $49 (our regular price is $199), then you would need to mail a check or money order for $49 postmarked by no later than Saturday, January 10, 2004, to:

NCC Co.
1425 Market Blvd, Suite 330-#110
Dept. FP
Roswell, GA 30076
Attn: Expeditor

Also, please include your complete contact information: name, address, and a phone number where we can contact you concerning your order, if necessary (also, and Very Importantly, include your email address(es) with your order ... failure to do this could delay your order).

We will Expedite your order once we receive your payment by mail.

Thank you, in advance, for mailing your order and we look forward to serving you.

P.S.: It is very important that you email back to us and let us know if we can expect your payment by mail!

Dear (names removed per website instruction):

In response to your question about your credit card order ....

Please understand that the problem was NOT that your (or (names removed per website instruction)) card was "declined" or "rejected" ... the problem is that there has been a sudden technical problem in our company's ability to take credit cards as payment! Our credit card processor is (was) an outside firm. We will be in negotiations with a new credit card processor sometime in the near future, but for now, you would still need to mail prepayment of a check or mon-ey order by no later than this Saturday, January 10, 2004 (special discount extension date for you due to credit card problem), to:

NCC co.
1425 Market Blvd, Suite 330-#110
Dept. FPE
Roswell, GA 30076
Attn: Expeditor

We hope this clears up any confusion.

Thank you, in advance, for mailing your order and we look forward to serving you.

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience! Let us know if we can be of further assistance.

NCC co.

P.S.: As we mentioned in our earlier correspondence, It is very important that you email back to us and let us know if we can expect your payment by mail.

This "problem" as well as some of the info you requested for the original payment has given me some concerns about the validity of your company. I will be coming to Atlanta next week and will stop by your office to purchase the software. Because you are having difficulty processing the credit card I originally provided through no fault of mine, I would appreciate an extension on the discounted offer through next week. Thank you and I will speak with you soon.

Dear (names removed per website instruction):

You mentioned in your last message (above) that you intend to "bring your order by" .... Please understand that our Market Blvd address in Roswell, GA is our "postal" mailing address only, and if you go by there you will only see a group of mail boxes along with a "packaging and mailing center". The "packaging and mailing center" has no affiliation with our company other than renting us a mail box.

However, you are welcome to "drop off" your order in an envelope (for Box 110), and the mail box center employees there will place it in our commercial mail box. Or, of course, you can just conveniently place it in any postal mail collection receptacle near you (by no later than Monday, January 12, 2004)!

In response to your concern about our credit card acceptance problem ....

Sorry, but we only found out about the credit card problem this past Thursday! And, we sent out notifications about the sudden problem to the individual customers (like yourself) who requested to order via credit card. Unfortunately, our credit card processor is (was) an outside firm. We will be in negotiations with a new credit card processor sometime in the future, but for now, you would still need to mail prepayment of a check or mon-ey order. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience!

We hope this will not affect your decision to order access to our income-producing FedEx shipping "Refund Recovery Site and Online Software" at the special temporary discount price we have extended for you!

Let us know if we can be of further assistance. God Bless!!

NCC co.

I don't think you truely addressed my concern. And it seems my email was edited in your reply. I am Very interested in a software package that does what you claim but my concern is the intent and validity of your company. 1st you asked for the last 4 digits of the card holders SSN. This is highly irregular and is not needed for you to process payments. Second, you state
that your online credit card ordering site is secure .. it is not.. easily seen because the site is not https. Third, instead of advising me of your physical location to stop by, you tell me to drop off my payment at your mailboxes? It is possible that your company has a legitime interest in selling a legitimate product but you are not representing yourselves well.

Please take a look at the situation from a buyer's perspective and I think you will agree the details are concerning at very least. If your company is in fact legitimate you will provide the physical address that you do business at and I will stop by and pay you in person at the same time I pick up the product. If this is not possible, I will need Several references from
other customers using your product .. this includes phone #'s. If neither of these is possible I will assume this is a scam and notify the website that referred you to me of this possibility.

P.S. The following was edited out of your reply which only furthers my concerns of deceit.."This "problem" as well as some of the info you requested for the original payment has given me some concerns about the validity of your company." That quote was the first sentence (being the most important) in my email below and it was taken out and not addressed. What kind of business are you running?

To: (names removed per website instruction)

First of all, we do not allow "third party" card payment on orders anyway ... it can actually be deemed illegal! And, you were using a third-party's bank card (belonging to an individual named "(names removed per website instruction)")!

Second, due to your "falsely accusative" responses, our company has decided that we do not want to do business with you! It's been our experience that when a person is as "negative" and "unreasonable" as YOU are (before they even get started), then there's NO way they will ever be successful at this (or at anything, for that matter)!

Please disregard all previous correspondence, and Do NOT Send any payment to our company whatsover ... if you already have, then be advised that it will be NOT be accepted! This is our final word on the matter!

We have removed your email address and information from our database!

I will go ahead and notify appropriate agencies of the probable scam you are running. Thank you for confirming my suspicions.

Please do.

My fiancee (whose card we are talking about) contacted his credit card company last week to notify them of possible identity theft and they are already monitoring his account because of our interactions with your company. He also contacted all 3 major credit bureaus, SSA, and all of his other credit card companies to ensure that your company was not abusing the information we provided in good faith. Enjoy the phone call.

That was my final correspondence with them. There were several concerns that I listed to them and I found it amusing that they tried to make me feel bad for questioning them. Anyone in business knows that asking for references is standard.

My concerns were never addresssed and the only responses I got were attempting to misdirect my concern and at the end became very aggressive and threatening. The email and web address of this company is supplied by CJB.net (http://www.cjb.net/) and was the cause of my fiancee's initial concern. He works for a major national bank and is on their IT security team so he is highly aware of tactics hackers and theives use against unknowing consumers. He mentioned to me that many hackers use CJB because (as it clearly states on their website) it cloaks and re routes URL's making it difficult to track.

His concern of the site they used and the fact that they requested the last 4 digits of his social are the factors that initially encouraged me to question this company. I would be very wary of any dealing with these people and felt I should do my part to notify others.
