VPI pet insurance is not worth the money. I purchased their superior plan. I pay a little over 60.00 a month in premiums for 2 dogs. I have had this plan for about 2 years.

I recently had a dog swallow a bottle of medication. My vet bill was $2800.00 I did everything right as far as filing the claim to make sure I would get most of my money back.

I ended up getting a check for a measly 260.00 an then the code diagnosis was incorrect. It was listed as toxicity not an overdose which it clearly was. I called customer service but all I got was the runaround with no results.

The front of their benefits schedule looks pretty. They say they pay 90% Some of it is in bold print some is not. What the real story is that they pay 90% of what their benefit schedule is. Which leads me to the back of their form, which pays almost nothing in claims. There seems to be a lot of loopholes in their policy.

My wife was the one who bought the policy. I wished I had read it whe she purchased it. It is a complete ripoff for the money I strongly advise anyone who considers buying pet insurance to carefully read the fine print. I cannot stress this enough.

I have read what others have posted and the concensus is the same. If you have VPI drop them immediately! Save your money. Put it in savings bank account for your pet. It is a much better deal considering how much you pay in premiums versus what you get in return.

Run away, And run away fast! This company deserves to be put out of business.

Rebuttal to the other Rebuttal

To Yourfriendly_ripoffdestroyer, who has commented on nearly every VPI report:  You don't seem to know much about the policy you're running around defending.  The VPI benefit schedule has different entries for "Drug Overdose and "Drug Toxicity."  Clearly VPI does not think Toxicity = Overdose.  So your rebuttal is simply wrong.

Also, I'm not sure if you're an employee of VPI or just some weirdo who really wants to defend them, but either way, your rebuttals are making them look worse, not better.
