Buyer beware, this auction house, previously known as American Red Cross Donated Car Sales, is selling vehicles without complying with the Safety and Smog regulations. You will encounter large expenses to register a vehicle in California if you do not get a smog certificate from the buyer. IS THE LAW, seller has to provide a certificate of compliance or noncompliance to buyer!!!

They sold me a vehicle without smog certificate and with a defective engine but failed to disclose such in the auction, when I asked them for smog and money back for repairs, they requested I, the buyer, do the smog then they will reimburse me for the repairs. They signed a settlement agreement with these previous terms, but after I smogged the vehicle, they refused to honor the settlement! Was not until I took them to small claims court that they decided to pay, and that only seconds before the court trial.

If you ever are so desperate and need to buy a vehicle from such an outfit, make no illusions, you WILL PAY MORE then if you are buying from private buyers or licensed vehicle dealers.

DO NOT ACCEPT PEDDLERS, offers by so called dealers they are populating auction grounds and offering to buy for you vehicles otherwise sold to dealers only for a fee.

If such a dealer buys a vehicle for you, is not exactly so!

The charity will sell the vehicle to dealer, in turn the dealer will sell the vehicle to you. You will loose any recourse against the charity, is now only between you and the dealer. Such sales are illegal if not consumated on the dealer lot.

Charity sells vehicle to dealers only if vehicle did not pass smog, for example. Make yourself a favor and stay away from such vehicles, will save you hundreds of dollars.
