I wanted everyone to be aware of National Consumer Council,Inc. They will call on the phone as a telemarketer. they prey on people that are in bad financial situations.the BBB states they already have your credit report and know you have a hardship situation before they call you.

Since I am dealing with Conseco Finance as I have reported, I e-mailed the Better Business Bureau in California before getting involved with them. Much to my dismay and anger that there is another dishonest company out there preying on unsuspecting people. I am reporting to everyone what I pulled up from the BBB web site and wanted to tell all unsuspecting people with financial hardship problems.

The report is as bad as Conseco Finance. The company is rated as having an unsatisfactory business performance record based on a pattern of complaints that cause the BBB concern. The complaints are widespead from not paying your debts and causing additonal hardships with late penalties and interest added to account balances to unsettled complaints regarding solicitation laws.

President of the National Consumer Council Responds

AUTHOR: Harvey - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 24, 2003

Dear Sandrs:

I understand your frustration with this situation. Yes, the NCC does do phone outreach. We also air public service announcments, print 20,000 newsletters per month as well as presenting lectures on the dangers of too much debt on college campuses.

May I suggest that anyone who has concern about the BBB rating e-mail them and ask the follwoing questions:

1. How many complaints?
2. Over how long a period of time?
3. What were the nature of the complaints?
4. Was the complaint resolved satisfactorily?
5. How many complaints remian unanswered for unresolved - and for how long?

The answers to those questions are the measure of the goodness of the NCC.

We do not agree witht he BBB assessment of the NCC. I can not speak for Conseco, but you should ask the same questions on that company as well.

May I suggest that you call the Irvine Chamber of Commerce. Unlike the BBB, they work a much smaller area and have a much deeeper understanding of our efforts.

If you have further questions, please feel free to call me at the NCC 800-990-3990
