National Credit Audit Corporation - The Nation Magazine Originally responded to MSNBC TV commercial to try "The Nation" magazine for free, called, NO CREDIT CARD INFO GIVEN, National Credit Audit Corporation collection letter in mail after I canceled free trial Peoria Illinois

Saw TV commercial on MSNBC about trying The Nation for free, (...."we will send you free trial issue of our world class magazine {to try for free}, and if you dont agree that we are the best magazine you have ever read: simply cancel the trial subscription and keep our magazines for free.")

So, I called the 1800#, gave my address (altho rep on phone insisting on my CC info, would not process unless I gave her this info, I told her commercial said FREE TRIAL, no mention of CC required, I started to hangup, whereupon she processed without CC).

I recieved some magazine issues, I didnt like magazine, and so I canceled via "bill" notice I subsequently recieved from "The Nation" (did this 2X, yet still got "bill" notices, and then I got collection letter in mail. RIDICULOUS!

I wonder if the original 1800# that I called to order free trial was an outsourced customer service outfit and it is THEY who are behind all off this??
Either way, dont offer something for me to try for free, and then try to bill me anyways if I dont like it.

Reminds me of the scary psychotic people who go on ONE date with someone, and think they OWN you, or they are making more of the situation then what it was: ONE DATE!! There are laws against one-time daters who become stalkers, restraining orders and the like......BUT, where are the laws against stalking predatory companies??
