We received a letter from National Geographic Society offering a Preferred Customer price of a full years subscription of 12 monthly issues for $12.00.
A check for $12.00 was sent on 3 Feb 2011.
On 22 February 2011, a letter from the National Geographic Society was received with an invoice listing:
DUES $15.96
AMOUNT PAID $12.00
AMOUNT DUE $ 3.96
We could just send the money and forget it, as it wouldn't cause any decrease in our standard of living, BUT, I despise any company saying they have an item for sale to me at one price and then try to extort more funds later!
And I thought that the National Geographic Society was an honest company. HA!

" *Plus $3.95 shipping and handling".
I do not think this was a Rip Off . . . simply a failure to examine the insert with the offer.
