On March 9, 2006, I placed an order by phone to Motor Mint for several die cast cars. The experience I had was terrible.

1. They charge your credit card immediately before the order is processed. If there is a problem in shipping, you will have a hard time getting your money back. It is now April 26 and there is still no credit on my Mastercard account.

2. On March 30 (3 weeks later), I called and was informed the cars were on their way. I continued to wait. On April 4 I called again and was informed they were mailed on March 16.

I was given a routing number, which I checked, only to find the cars never reached UPS. They were never shipped. On April 11, I sent an e-mail to Mr. Ottoman, their service representative.
He indicated there would be an immediate refund on my card. It didn't show up.

After several e-mail communications(and repeated promises to grant the refund), all I got was expressions of disgust from Mr. Ottoman and indications he had other customers to take care of. He finally indicated there had been a shipping problem (which he could have done much earlier), but that should not have prohibited a quick refund.

3. I pay my credit card off monthly, but for people who pay interest, this would cost them several dollars in interest.
Mr. Ottoman didn't seem to care about that possibility.

4. I am sure there will be a rebuttal to this complaint, but I have documentation for all I have said.

The credit finally showed up on my Mastercard account on April 27. The date of entry indicated was April 21. Why it wasn't posted until the 27th is a mystery to me.

After further consideration, I have decided much of complaint was based on misunderstanding. While I still feel the matter was not handled correctly by the service department, I was a little hasty to file the complaint on the internet. It was not worth making a big deal over.
