Having attended other CME courses with other companies, the course I attended with National Procedures Institute was a rip-off at best. The agenda was misleading and I was unable to receive any hands-on training as implied in their published agenda. The speaker was a Family Practitioner who was only recently trained in these aesthetic procedures, there was no Botox as promised rather saline injections were done.

This is ridiculous when you want to be able to tell your patients how it feels and expectations that they could realize in the (5-7) days after the procedure. The demonstration was as equally disappointing in that the person injected (with what they called Botox) was not indicated for the injections. The dermal fillers the next day was the same and did not show any of the physicians in attendance how to augment lips, marionette lines, or other such easy injections.

It wasn't just me, all of the physicians were up in arms about the courses. The management from National Procedures Inc. that was in attendance (office clerks) kept referring to the auspices of being part of the American Academy of Family Physicians. I could have bought a book and received a better education to these procedures the whole course was not worth the $2400+ paid for what?. I warn everyone considering these courses or believing you can incorporate any of the training in their practice. As a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians I am both disgusted and disenchanted with this offshoot, rip-off training company. I will never renew my membership and ask all of my fellow colleagues what has the American Academy of Family Physicians done for you?
