Company sends you a mailer after you have bought a new car.  In the mailer it claims to give you a 'free' period to sign up for a ervice that gives the police a way to identify you car immediately if it got stolen.  Queries to BBB shows complaints against the company while it is not even registered with the BBB.  The promised in the mailer are shady, confusing, not precise, and you never know what you are paying for, other than that you'll get a few 'stickers, that chemically do something magical to help police find your VIN and trace you (as the owner) down ... Our boys in blue already know how to do that, right?  Isn't that why mu VIN and registration are being kept up at the tax office, right?  The mailings smell of scam and are totally sketchy.

NTSR The Company

AUTHOR: National Theft Search and Recovery - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, October 13, 2016

Our company helps locate stolen vehicle by offering multiple methods. Each vehicle owner that registers into the database will receive VPR (Vehicle Plate Recognition) recovery for all the vehicles located at the residence not just the registered vehicle (see how law enforcement uses this technology at www.vprtracking.org).

Many advertisements offer complimentary decals and stickers when the owner registers the vehicle. None of the advertisements say our product or services are free. Services or products may be complimentary with a registration into our database only. Our VPR services is a very aggressive and inexpensive way to search for a stolen vehicle. The cameras scan approximately 100,000,000 (100 million) license plates per month. The decals are geared towards professionsl theives that tend to remove all identifying marking including the vehicle's VIN. Even when our decals are removed they still leave a chemical transfer that takes place into the paint that will illuminate your unique identifying number under ultra violet lighting or black light. The third deterrent are two window stickers that are applied to the vehicle for potential thieves to see. This is to warn them that the vehicle has police tracking technology on it in the hopes they leave your vehicle alone and move on to an easier target. We hope this has given you a better understanding on how and what our services and products are.

Cordially,

Administration Department
