After buying a used car, the dealer asked me to purchase a warranty for the vehicle, it seemed like a good idea at the time, but I had no idea what I was paying the high price for, and I am still wondering. The letter the company sent me tells me they have no intention of paying for any thing that may go wrong with my car. Buyers beware! It is ridicules to assume that I can leave my car parked at a busy intersection while I phone to get approval to fix my car, why do I need them at all? I have to get my car fixed and drive 25 miles to work and another 25 miles home every day in Tampa Bay traffic!

If they do not intend to honor the agreement I have paid the high price for I just my $1654.00 and we can call it over! I want check on this companies license in the state of Florida and I doubt if they have a permit to sell the trash they are selling but I am out several house pmts in the mean while! I want satisfaction regarding this companies business practices and a refund of already paid premium. How many people have been scamed w/ this same scam? Given people in the state of Florida are insurance rich and preimum poor , this will hit home w/ a lot of people I am sure, but when I was unable to get any satisfaction I knew it was time to contact 8 on your side.

Response from National Warranty of Florida

AUTHOR: Brian@national Warranty Of Florida - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 14, 2008

My name is Brian and I am a claims supervisor for National Warranty of Florida. I have reviewed the online report Nicky kw has posted.

In response to your posting regarding your warranty, our company has received two seperate invoices from the contract holder Nicky kw in early February.

One invoice was for a automotive battery replacement which is an item excluded from coverage on the extended warranty agreement. On this claim we did send out a letter explaining the denial as a part not covered.

The second invoice was for a replacement alternator which is a coverable repair on the contract. The extended warranty does require prior authorization for all repairs-but being her first actual claim and the repair cost not requiring an inspection we have settled the repair to the amount coverable by the the terms of the contract. There was a letter sent to the customer also explaining prior authorization is required and that we would cover the unathorized repair this time only but prior authorization would be required for any future claims. A check is in the process of being sent to the customer for the alternator replacement.

We do feel we have adjudicated the claims to the terms of the contract.

Sincerely

Brian Keupp
Claims Supervisor
