I was ripped off by this company also. I purchased the $89.00 package and my check was also instantly cleared. I called dozen of times and only one time got thru and I was told they would be sending the books by the 24th of Dec. 2004 because "they were not happy with the way they came out from publication. They were being re-done." I think our schools should take some responsibility on this matter becuase they are the one publishing and giving outside organizations our children's grades. Its a shame that a scum like this would use our kids to benefit his pocket. Now how do we trust when the Universities and Government officials write to our kids? How do we not know if they are bogus also?

Let me explain to you Josh,
My daughter has been a straight A student since her first year of school. She continues to be an Honor Roll Student with Straight A's. She has received the Presidents Award, several Governors Awards, trophies and medals. Out of 500 students she was one of 5 chosen to have her portrait done, these 5 kids would be representing their school. She was Captain at her Spelling Bee Competition, in which her school came in first. At age 6 won second prize on the District's Science Fair, while in Middle School she has taken High School courses and Honor Roll Courses like Honor Roll Algebra. She was asked to take the SATs and she scored 56% higher than the High School Students. Both Clemson and Duke University have asked she participate in their Summer Programs and last year she received a trophie for being the only Softball Player to maintain her straight A's grade while playing a school sport. She participates in almost all the school benefits, like "Walking for Diabetes", "Tsunami Relief","Hoops for Cancer" and many others. And so much more., This was not about vanity, or flaunting. She deserves to be acknowledge.
If our schools did not make their grades a public matter specially without our consent, then these scammers wouldnt have access to their names, grades and addresses. With all the sick garbage that goes on in this world, how can they make our kids information public.
On the real subject , I encourage everyone to file a 'Mail Fraud' Complaint with your local Post Office or online at www.USPS.com. This is a Federal Offense and they can help track this man down and his company and put a stop to him.

They aren't sanctioned by the school

Schools don't give these companies your child's grades. This would be a violation of federal law (FERPA, to be exact). The only thing a school is allowed to publish is directory information (name, grade, address, phone number). You have the right to restrict this information -- usually, it's in a form you fill out during registration. Call the school office for more information.
This company is an obvious scam, even if you do receive your book. If you would like your child to be recognized for something genuine, have him or her participate in some activities your school offers. There are many ways to receive a genuine award or honor. Paying $89.00 is not one of them.
