We are a small boutique in the state of Minnesota. We moved from one location into a new location. While in the transition of making the move, we received a postcard from "The National YellowPages" asking us to update our information with them. Making sure our address, phone number, website, etc was correct and matched the information they had.

I made the corrections (with our new address) thinking this was a legitimate company in our local area. The postcard did NOT say anything about signing up for advertising and fees, etc.

The way that I interpreted the card was that they realized we moved and wanted to update our online and physical location information... plain and simple.

It wasn't until 3 months later we received a "LATE" Bill in the mail for $329 plus a late fee of $32.90.... What?!?!

We were baffled when we saw this. First of all, we never received the first bill.... And secondly, we couldn't believe that we were receiving a bill at all.

I immediately called the company and spoke to a extremely RUDE gentleman on the other end of the line. I tried to tell him that this was all a misunderstanding and I wanted him to terminate what ever type of business it was that he thought we had together. He told me that that was totally not do-able and that if I didn't pay the bill, it would be turned over to a collection agency. I said that I too had my own legal person and that I would leave it all in her hands. He said "that would be fine butI would still end up having to pay this bill"

And here's the kicker, apparently they were planning on billing again after 6 months because once you send the card in, it renews itself and you're billed all over again.

From what I have seen here, this is a fraudulent company and a scam and in NO WAY am I going to pay this bill.

Since the paper bill, I have also now received a email demanding payment.
