we had a mortgage with nationstar for a few years. then they offered to refinance the the loan with a lower interest rate. they said we qualified for the fannie mae lower rate.which in turn would lower our mo. payment. of course this sounded great to us sence we are on fixed income.
well thats the only thing that happened. they made a promise on multipul recorded calls that they would arrange our payment according to our ssi checks.which come the 2nd wk. of the mo.well they did not.they start calling with threats a wk before our late date.sometimes they call 3 times a day.our payments are always sent before then. but they claim they dont get them and attach late fees every mo.these late fees are false.its there way of getting more money.no one at nationstar will return any calls.this comp. needs to be investigated. and possiably shut down.
i am going to do everything in my power to start a class action lawsuit against them. hopefuly someone reading this will contact me so that i can pursue this issue.oh and by the way they have screwed up our credit with there false late payment reporting tactics.

I have one clarification question. Did you actually refinance to get the lower monthly payment or did they do a rate reduction?
To your part about wanting to get them shut down, it looks like it has already happened. They shut down all of their new business and are just maintaining the loans they had at that time they shut the doors around September of 06.
I have seen a lot of their Notes and all of them that I can remember had a 15 day grace period on the mortgage payment. Technically your payment is due on the 1st of each month (if that is what your note said), they just won't charge you a late fee until the 16th and can't report you to the credit bureaus until you are at least 30 days late. There are a lot of state and federal laws that protect you as a consumer with the harassing phone calls. Have you been making your payment by physical check or some sort of on-line payment?
