We hired Nationwide Relocation Service and they contracted AllPro Transfer. They were a day late than the 2 day window of pick-up we were given 10/23-10/24. Arrived afternoon of 10/25. We were not told all the places our furniture would go before delivering to our new home. The driver thought we'd get delivery either Wednesday 10/29 or 10/30. The end date of our delivery window was 11/1. After many conversations and lies about the delays. They arrived 11/5.
We were told when he picked up our things he was going to Salt Lake City and then to our location in Oregon. That the Salt Lake City stuff would be delivered after our. However, they must have delivered their furniture to Eastern Washington and then went to Montana for another load, because the stuff that shared the truck with ours was from Montana.
We had damaged goods and there was to be a refund for that plus the delays. As of 12/27/08 we have not heard another word and no refund. We would never use either Nationwide or Allpro transfer for anything.

You Should Consider Yourself Lucky

To begin with, I would do a search on Nationwide on this website - you will thank your lucky stars as to how fortunate you truly were. Many people who use a broker like Nationwide usually have movers that wait 30 days to deliver your stuff. Is what they did bad? Sure. On the other hand, you paid very little - so you got what you paid for. Given what you're complaining about so far, it's mild compared to what happens to others.
Rule of thumb with moving: Never search for a mover on the internet; you will be low-balled and your price will absolutely go up - sometimes to the price a regular major, full-service mover will charge. Except that you get less than professional service.
I will assume for the moment that you paid for the move in full. If you haven't, you need to - NOW!! Per the contract you signed, no claim will be resolved until you pay for the move in full first. Have you filed a claim with the mover? If you have, you're complaining too soon at this point to have the claim resolved. On the other hand, expect that you will get reimbursed at an amount equal to $0.60 per pound. That means if you're 50 pound TV was broken, expect $30 in a claim refund and there's nothing you can do about that, because that's in your contract and no lawyer can get around that contract.
Moving is not an inexpensive venture and choosing a mover based on price without doing a search on how good a mover they are will generally cost you in late deliveries, broken items, and a broken heart. Stay off the internet to find a mover and stick to the phone book and stick with the major companies that move people.
Best of luck to you.

I looked up the paperwork and found I had made an error. Nationwide contracted All Star not All Pro. They are the company we are most upset at and waiting for their refund.
