I contracted with Nationwide Relocation Services to move my furniture and belongings from MI to FL. They had Michigan Relocations do the move for me. Picked up my furniture on 10/06/07. Promised my delivery on 10/08/07. Then, another promise of 10/12/07. Then...they quit answering my calls, refused to return my calls. The driver from Michigan Relocations had his phone disconnected. Michigan Relocations also never returned my calls. I was staying in a flee-bag hotel for 4 weeks with my ill mother (she was recovering from major abdominal surgery just 2 weeks prior). I found an apartment and signed a lease and turned on my utilities based upon their promises. I was paying rent and hotel. Running out of money fast, I concluded that my furniture was just "gone". I bought a bed, TV, sofa, 2 dinner plates, forks, spoons, cups, etc. I didn't get delivered until 11/3/08. My furniture was badly damaged. The Household Goods Descriptive Inventory list they filled out only had the article name (such as "sofa") and the rest of the form was blank. They made me sign the form, me not knowing that the column "Condition at Origin" should have been completed and verified by me. They entered such fabricated lies about my furniture condition. Even items that were brand new out of the box and never been used, were listed as worn, dented, faded, worn, etc. When the delivery finally arrived, both guys, including the driver, had obviously smoked marijuana based upon the smell and appearance! How can they stay in business?? I will fight them to the end!
