Nationwide Subscription Services / Nationwide Subscriptions Incorporated Magazine Sales Scam Buford Georgia

A young gentleman came to our door selling magazine subscriptions. He had a very simple conversation with my Husband. We invited him in and he proceeded to tell us that he lived just down around the corner at the corner house - that he was Nancy's son (I was confused because I had always thought the women who lived there was named Andrea - I had met her several months prior.) He seemed so convincing that I decided to go with it and second guess myself that maybe a new family had moved in...

He left is phone number with me to contact him regarding my business - I was going to help him with his Christmas shopping needs b/c I own my own business and gave him my business card in return. He said that would be great and gave me his information.

The next day I went to try and call him and the phone number was not valid. I told my husband of my suspicions and we started to do a little further investigating only to find that there was no one listed on our street with his last name, nor were there any with that last name in the general area.

Finally after taking a look on-line about the company we found "Ripoff Report" and new we had been scammed. It is a shame too because he really was a nice guy and you really believed that he was excited about getting go to his Baseball Championships and that we were helping out "a few of the guys who couldn't afford to go - and this fundraiser would be there ticket there". We really believed him - sadly. So once we knew we were a part of a scam - we called to cancel but could only leave a message. So immediately we went ahead and stopped payment on the check. Still not sure if this is going to affect our account or not...but we are being very cautious none the less. Be careful who you let in your front door. It just might not be your neighbor after all.
