I also had a terrible experience, after paying this company $6,000, they did nothing for almost a year, and I hired another accountant who took care of my issues.  I requested my money back, and when they declined, I sued them in small claims court, and I won.  They refunded me (when ordered by the court) and I was able to get most of my money back. 

I reccomend that you file in small claims court against them, and do what you can to get your money back.  You can win- I certainly did.  My situation was very similar to yours, and the courts will help people like us.
