I bought a service contract through the dealership I bought my used truck from to cover everything for an addition 36K miles. I started to hear a noise coming from my truck so I brough it to the mechanic for a look/see and a repair. NationWide refuses to cover my transmission because I cannot produce receipts that I changed my own oil and did tire rotations.
The problem was with the transmission and had nothing to do with the motor. To date, everything has been done according to the owner's manual, yet because I don't have receipts of the oil I bought or the tire rotations I performed, NationWide is denying my claim.
Don't EVER purchase a service agreement from NationWide. They are in business to rip you off, deny your claims, and make dealerships money. Ask the finance Manager who the company is that provides the extended warranty (Service contract). If it is NationWide, refuse to purchase it.
