I ordered books from a TV ad. I found I was then being charged for a monthly newsletter I did not order. I emailed a cancellation to Natural Cures in November 2006, but was charged in December and again in January 2007.

I filed a dispute of charges with my bank, but was informed that merchants are protected and can get away with not refunding the charges AND continue to charge my account each month.

My only recourse is to hope they will stop charging my account, or to close my bank account.

The monthly newsletter charge is about $6.00 but times 12 is $72.00 per year of unauthorized monies being taken out of my bank account. What if the charge was $100 a month? Seems the amount doesn't matter... once the merchant has an access code to tap into your bank account, you're are dead in the water. They can use it as long as you have the same bank account.

This is really distressing and criminal.
