After law school, I successfully litigated several cases at the Federal level against a few, large, imposing corporations, but these people are far more devious and politiely nasty than anyone whom I've previously encountered. Apparently, they assume that when they're calling you from the Phillipines or from India, they're safely beyond the jurisdictional reach of the US judicial system, and not to give them any credit whatsoever, they may well be.

Since my state of residence has a "One-party Consent Rule" [ making it legal to record my conversations with them without telling them ] , I've previously recorded a few of my attempted [ and less than civil ] phone communications with them, whenever they've "purposely availed themselves of the benefits and protections of my forum state or have purposely directed their activity toward my state" by calling me.  

Succinctly and in my personal opinion, these people are extremely nasty. A friend who's a Vietnam veteran co-signed a $3200 private loan for me so that I could finish law school, and despite my requests and the oral agreement which a navient employee gave me, they've contacted him whenever I've been more than a few days late with a payment, causing him to physically threaten me.  In fact, descriptive terms like, "break your legs and permanently cripple you so that you can continue paying them" have been used.

They're fully aware of this and despite my request that they bother him only if/when I'm more thn 30 days late [ which I've been only once in a 7-year period ] they've convinced him that my being a few days late will destroy his credit rating, when an employee of a credit rating agency has informed me that nothing is negatively reported to a credit rating agency until/unliess a payment is more than 90 days late.

How do we stop these people from further insulting, harassing and terrorizing that portion of the American public who have unfortunately had their student loans sold/assigned to the nasties at Navient? Frankly, I'm really fed up with their abuse.
