NC Child Support Enforcement Cumberland County SENT AWAY YET AGAIN Fayetteville North Carolina

I have recently gone to the NC CSE office to close my case. For almost a year, they have been trying to collect child support for me in another state. Needless to say, I have not received a dime. Possibly because of the other parent, possibly because of lack of action from CSE.

I am applying for CSE in the state where the noncustodial parent lives, so that I may only work with one office. Upon closing my case, I have asked for copies of things in my file, so that I may send it to the new CSE.

Sadly, I have visited the office four times in the last two weeks, trying only to get these few copies so that I can get my new case started. The first time, the person I needed to see was at lunch. I was told by the lady at the front desk to come back the next day and to consider her lunch time in the 1:00 hour. I also filled out the form this day to close my case and included on this form that I needed copies of things in my file.

As told, I returned to the office the next morning (before the lunch hour, Friday) and surprise!! "She isn't in today". I was then offered the same form, which I told her I had already filled out. And she instructed me to come back in the following week. I returned on Monday, still not in.

I went back in on the following Thursday. I spoke with the very unfriendly lady behind the glass. She asked if she could help me, I asked if the person that I needed to speak with was in. She told me no one was there by that name, and proceeded to answer the phone.
When she was done with the call, she looked at me like she had never seen me before, and said, " Can I help you?" I told her that I just need to get some copies of things in my file. She said she had never heard of this kind of request.

Funny thing, I had asked her for this same thing three times before in the last few days. I AGAIN explained what my intentions were. AGAIN she gave me another form to fill out requesting these copies. Although the person I needed to speak to was in the office, the lady behind the glass said "She works by appointment only, or her walk in day is on Tuesday" I then asked if I could get an appointment. She told me to fill out the paper and come back in on Tuesday.

You also can not call the office directly. You can try, they give you a number, but it goes directly to a call center in Raleigh. (Which told me, "you do not need an appointment, you can walk in without one.") I can't even call this mystery person that has my file and ask her for what I need so that she can leave it for me to pick up at the front desk. Which would make it even easier for them. I would even settle for her voice mail.

My question is, if I can not get a simple couple of copies of what I gave them to begin with, so that I can move on, how do they run an office and look out for the best interest of these kids that need this support to survive???

I understand that there are alot of child support cases to be seen to, but at least give me five minutes to get my copies or tell me when I can REALLY get them!!! Don't continue to send me away because you don't have five minutes to run some copies, my time is important too.
