NCIC 7874530808 PRI 800-5959694 TX $13 for less than a minute Internet, Texas

My experience is quite similar. I recently travelled to go and visit a friend. I didn't have my cell phone yet, so I used a payphone. I punched in my calling card, and heard the message that I didn't have enough credit in order to actually make a call. So I put in my credit card. There was no message about any charges whatsoever, no confirmation, just simply "put in your expiry date" and then "Enter the number to call"

The call ended up being less than a minute, she wasn't there and I left a message. I didn't want to ring her back, so I ended up going somewhere else. Just today, I checked my credit card, and I thought to myself "Who is NCIC, I don't remember paying $13 for anything". So I googled the phone number and info. When I found all this info, then I remembered. I have learned my lesson and will never put a card in a payphone again.

Their charges are ridiculous, but they are legit because I put my card in and made the transaction. But they're not right because they never informed anyone, never made any notice, never made a confirmation, or anything. They didn't tell me how much they charged, just to put your card in. Most calling cards say something like "You're balance is this much, You have this much time remaining, this call will cost you this much, is that OK". But NCIC just charges you through the neck. That is not fair. Hopefully others will learn from this and they will change their system.
